You really are a fooking twat, you should never judge a band on the background of one of the members.

I love Busted, they were an amazing pop band. They never said they were rock, they said they were pop with rock influences. Don’t tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about because I’m one of their most dedicated fans.

None of you have any right whatsoever to tell people who they 'should' be listening to. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and mine is that Busted were incredible (and their live shows proved that, because I know lots of people who had the same opinion as you lot, ended up going to a gig with their girlfriend or whoever, and came out loving them), the unreleased tracks are the best songs in my opinion. Some of the singles were their worst songs, eg. Year 3000, Air Hostess.

But since you mentioned some bands..

Green Day - fantastic, one of my favourite bands. Dookie is a great album, as is (and I’m not ashamed to admit this because I love it lol) American Idiot.
Blink 182 - pretty good, Travis is one of the best drummers out there.
The Darkness - I love their guitar parts, Justin Hawkins can be an arse but they’re good.
My Chemical Romance - I love them, I need to get their first album because apparently it’s better than Three Cheers. I hate the fact they became really popular just after I got into them, not because I care about how popular a band is, but because people were accusing me of just trying to fit in. Blah. Very good, anyway.
Nirvana - maybe a bit overrated, but still damn good. :-)

Here’s one “busted h8er” to add to your list.

I hate them for several reasons, firstly for the fact that their albums are the equivolent of musical shitting, their lyrics are dross, written to sound like “typical rock lyrics” rather than through actual personal experience, their songs are nothing but similar chord and lyrical patterns, so all their songs sound the same, and if you want that you might aswell just have one song per disc, and press the repeat button on the CD player. Their poor musical talent was only fuelled by their piss-poor rendition of “Teenage Kicks” by The Undertones, not only did it ruin the song for me, but insult to injury was added due to the fact that it meant them (them being a Commercial, manufactured band) trying to place themselves into a culture of raw music and talent that surrounded the late John Peel (incase you didn’t know, it was him that first aired The Undertones, and many other great bands).

Secondly, I resent the fact that they are a pop band under the pretence of a rock/punk band, there are so many reason why they are not a rock/punk band despite their sound, how about starting by counting their column inches in Kerrang, then comparing it to their column inches in Smash Hits (i think they were even on the cover of smash hits, possibly even several times).

Their commercial success is also a factor, their branding and advertisements, such as their Thunderbirds Film Song (target audience, anyone?) pushed this to new highs. Capitalism isn’t usually the Rock trait, is it? Discounting Kiss, because they were crap.

OK, I’ve already written so much and if I don’t stop soon things could turn into an essay, so before i start talking about cultural and hisorical backgrounds, I’m going to stop.

I won’t give you the pleasure of mentioning some bands I think you should listen to, because that will only cause you to post back telling me that they suck for whatever reason.

WELL, I’m sorry, i got the whole thing wrong and Busted didn’t really claim to be rock at all, they were’t trying to be a brainless, poser “punk” group and they were just your average wholesome pop group.

Did I forget to mention they support the conservatives?
Does this sound slightly odd to you? A “punk” group showing support for an authoritarian, traditional, non-rebellious school of thought?

Well, Charlie, if you learn to count a minute, you might find you’ve actually grown up with Labour views, they’ve been in power since you were about 5, and since you aren’t interested in politics you probably don’t remember John Major so i suggest you shut up.

One of the boys then said “From the financial point of view, I’m a fucking tory boy, me” which, unless I’m quite mistaken, is basically saying “I’m a rich selfish cunt, and why should I have to pay proper tax when there are plenty of poor, none-rocking people to do it for me? the Tory’s are the party for me!!"
