They were both fairly weak at the begining of the series. Itachi is strong, in the first Arc Itachi could easily kill any Konoha ninja, hell he could kill just about any Ninja. However during the second arc, which takes place 3 years after the first arc Naruto is a lot stronger. He’s able to tap into the Kyuubi’s power a lot more effieciently than he did before, going so far as having four of the nine tails. In fact to give an example as to how strong Naruto actually was, here’s something for you to think about. Orochimaru isn’t afraid of Akatsuki, in fact at one time he was one of them, he is also one of the Legendary Sannin. Itachi told Kisame that if they were to attack Jiraiyha that they’d be killed. Orochimaru is stronger than Jiraiyha, and when Naruto fought Orochimaru in the second arc, Orochi said that Naruto is the only person who could kill him. So therefor logically Naruto is stronger than Orochimaru, who is stronger than Jiraiyha, who is stronger than Itachi.

So what about all the other stuff I posted?

Whilst chasing Deidara, Kakashi uses his new Mangekyo Sharingan and uses it to tear off Deidara’s remaining arm
As Deidara tries one last attack with his explosive clay, Kakashi once again utilizes Mangekyo Sharingan to send the clay explosion to another dimension.
He could either rip off Itachi’s arms and legs (or even his head) with his Sharingan or Send Itachi to another deminsion. After he does it he would be extremely tired and weakened but he would have won.

Manchester Black Guest | Not saying that either would win or lose, but remeber Kakashi himself stated that his new attack has very bad aim and he barely got Deidaras arm off, plus Itachi still remains in the dark on what else he is capable of. We’ve only seen like 3 techniques from him.

So Itachi used a third attack? What’s the third one?

Dewbrye Guest | hi, i’m sorry for bothering you lot, but i’ve been watching naruto, and everytime it comes up to the episode where sasuke gets his curse sealed, the bloody programmers start the whole of naruto back up from scratch! So basically for about the whole year naruto has been on jetix, it has never got passed series one or two! So could someone please tell me if sasuke actually beats itachi? plz, i’m close to the point of insanity!
