1. i like the controls alot. if you need to press x seven times then move the contoller up while tapping a 4 times while holding the 2 button to shoot i wont like the game
2. sound is great. i dont like silent games. if the game is just beep beep boop that would get annoying and i wouldnt play the game. and who the hell doesnt like BMG’s?
3 Graphics. super mario brothers first game. love it still. nuff said.

eg. jak 1 has super fast moves and feels really responsive which makes it one of my favourite games.

you’re too young to know how truly great Final Fantasy VII is... That is sad... Promise me that if they remake the game you’ll buy it, play it, beat it, and become as knowledgable about the game as me.

There is a clear separation between all three, but to me there’s a far smaller gap between gameplay and graphics. The very best games have them both at high levels. Better games are those with a lot of gameplay and poorer graphics. While the very worst games are very high in graphics but have minimal gameplay. No question, recipe for boredom. I’ve suffered this already with most of the X360 games so far.
Gameplay = control mechanism, control ease, control options, in-game missions, AI, destructability/interactivity with the environment, the story itself, single-player modes, mini-games, multiplayer modes, etc.
Some systems have a lot of processing power which can HOPEFULLY enable not just the easy-way-out graphics enhancements, but all the gameplay features as well. Developers don’t always do that. While some systems constrain developers how much they can do.
All in all, I don’t mind a power-orientated system like a PS3, as long as all the gameplay features are focused on equally or even more so than graphics. But the sheer power alone will make developers focus on the eyecandy far too much, so in a way the blessing of all that power ends up a curse most of the time.
However, the Wii, I love it for stripping back the power so that developers focus less on the graphics and more on gameplay. Forces them to use their imaginations. Shame there wasn’t JUST A LITTLE more grunt to give more to environment and AI.

P.Moore you do realize that gameplay is the most important part of a game, if a game looks good it does not mean it will play well. Take the resident evils 2 and 3, they had great graphics but they were really bad in terms of gameplay.
