For Half-Life it seems pretty simple, don’t have the guy talk at all.
Metroid has practically no story so all they can really do is make an unrelated movie and call it Metroid.
You’re just posting games you like. Get real, most of those games won’t make good movies. they are video games and most video games have lower quality stories than movies are expected to have. Only video game nerds will watch those movies and most of the world is not made up of video game nerds.

Atr - The big story is in the books. The games are made so you don’t need to read the books to get the main story. But the whole deal is in the extra stuff.

Most of those would make decent movies, if only action in a few cases.
Halo has an epic storyline going for it. It would also fare well, despite your opinion on its storyline, which is its primary asset.
I would venture to say a Zelda or Metroid movie would be cool, but it would be better anime-fied.
Starcraft and Warcraft definitely, but only in CGI form.
I’d like to see an Okami movie or MGS... but the easiest transition would probably be something like... oh, I don’t know. but I’d REALLY like to see a Splinter Cell movie.
