is it possible to make it to where images are automatically resized so that they don’t stretch the page?
When I ran an invision free forum we had a code that did it, also there was a code that made it to where text couldn’t stretch the page either. Any strings of text over 25 letters was automatically broken down to prevent overly large lines of text.
I think there is a BBcode modification on the image size, image=L#xW# that you want (putting the inage=L#xW# in [] obv) and you can downsize it that way.
Though, it might not be half a bad idea for other users, cos XTRM’s sig stretches the screen slightly on my computer and most people are too lazy to downsize it themselves.
What? You don’t think it’s a good idea? Well if you oppose it I’d certainly like to know why. I also had an idea to help with flamers and other minor annoyances.
Downsizing images usually can result in unwanted quality reduction. Not always, but who wants to deal with that at all?
Spoiler tags are efficient for large images as all you need to do is press the spoiler button and “BOOM!", there’s your pic, full size and all. When you want to revert, well, you know.
on the topic of pics, i saw one sight that did something interesting. if the pic was to big, it was kind of in its own sub window on the page, which had its own scroll bar and everything to scroll across the pic. i thought that this was a good idea, but i’m not sure if it would increase lag or something. i’ll try to find the sight, but i really don’t remember what it is.
oh, and spoiler tags are good.
edit, no, i can’t find the sight (i have been to a lot of random forums recently watching random arguments, so it could be anywhere...)
