Alright, So far, ive been told I have some skills for finding graphical tidbits/awesomeness, so, I am doing a 360 only monthly awards for graphics, I’m not saying graphics are the most important aspect in a game, I just want top abuse some skillz, alright. I’d be a fool to not include this one, It’s been a few months since it was released, and it still is the best looking game out there (as in released.) it’s probably not a suprise, but here it is.

Alright, my favorite personal aspect for graphics on this game are, the character models, especially the faces.

Look closely, have a good look, that is in-engine, and rocking,

Another good aspect in it’s graphics are the armor models, the rear of Marcus’s armor is jaggy, but look at colonel Hoffman’s armor.

this game uses the Unreal Engine 3 which looks very good and very realistic, and involves a complicated method for creating truly beautiful looking game, including the background/scenery

So, this months graphical award goes to Gears of War, for pure awesomenesses on almost every scale, if you would like to comment, debate, or have an idea for the layout, please let me know.

yeah gears of war has easily got the best graphics.
Even when you zoom in on an object it loses no quality, it actually may gain some =P
but i’ve heard that lost planet is supposed to have truly awesome explosions in it.

it does, it was a good contender for this month, but I think I need to give it some time to “breathe"

There’s a feature in the Unreal Engine 2.0 I noticed while playing UT 2004, where the textures keep their quality even up close. Its just the goodness of it.

Lost Planet is another awesome game, but, GoW beats it.

As good as the characters look, the textures on the floors and walls sucks.

Motion does this game justice, mainly because it implements motion blur...

But, yeah, the screenshots show many flaws.

UT 2007 however, will truly show the potential of this engine (on the PC moreso, as it utilizes DX10).

C-3PO- Very funny. You didn’t point much out and you never really said any of the cons.

The character models, especially that of the facial output, is quite disturbing in someways. In many aspects I’d say the character models of RE4 for the GC can match those. I mean I get to look at my avy everyday and still that looks quite good. I mean but the facila output is still good but not just amazingly better. And the character models aren’t entirely new.

And as some people have pointed out that their seem to be lots of flaws when focused on other things that they are trying to show off. overall the game does look great but it’s got a lot of lot of flaws in areas. This is why games can never be photorealistic. There will always be flaws.

The character models beat RE4’s. RE4 is the best looking game of last gen but can’t put up much competition against the new gen games. I went back to play RE4 and I saw so many flaws.

I can still go back to RE4 and be amazed by it. But RE4 has definetly got amazing depth and gameplay over Gears but of course we ain’t comparing that right now.

GoW shines graphics wise, there are few things in the game that look bad.

As funny as it sounds, and you can laugh if you want the game looks EXTREMELY amazing in motion, i will admit there are those.. “WTF HORRIBLE TEXTURE!!" moments, but the fact that when you play the game and half way through a deadly gun fight you will stare at an object in the game and think “Wow... that looks very good..." is worth it.

Not to mention the gameplay. smiley
