Wii had shipped 4 million worldwide as of the end of 2006 and ever increasing. And you think 2 million shipped in a greater time period and not a sellout is showing up the Wii. Those are NOT shipments. Over 2 million have been sold as in over 2 million people have PS3s. Why is it that whenever something good happens for Sony Nintendo fans change the whole story around to make Nintendo look better?
The ratio for Wiis vs. PS3s sold is 2:1 so calm down Nintendo fans. You’re still winning wat least.

FACT. FROM SONY NO LESS! Do you not have Acrobat Reader?
What kind of evidence is that? It may be fact but it does NOT say 2 million PS3’s were NOT sold.
it shipped 2 million, there is no way it sold them all.
They still managed it.
No, your article said this.
Sony this week announced that it has sold 2 million PS3 units worldwide, missing its year-end forecast by several weeks.
OH, GUESS WHAT! That’s the same week. And they said “SONY SAID”, but they didn’t say sold, they said shipped. Shipped and sold ARE NOT THE SAME.
You idiot. It said sold.
the sight linked in this thread said sold. sony said shipped.
It said that Sony ANNOUNCED they sold 2 million and Sony said shipped 4 BEFORE. That does not counter the article and Sony’s announcement 4 days later unless you can find a more recent Sony document or announcement that says they made a mistake.
they said that sony had claimed they sold 2 million. we do some research, and find an article with sony saying they have shipped 2 million. think about what might have happened.
You found and OLDER document. 4 days older is a lot in the business world.
not by that much. they reference a source from previous in the week, and we find a source that is previous that week. they don’t release numbers every god damn day. they don’t even release numbers every week. its a very rare thing. there is no way they release those numbers, then released new ones 1-3 days later.
this is why people need to cite their sources...
This is another factor. The time it takes for sales figures to be given out. Japan is, as far as I know, the only country that does this weekly.
Just because it was done 1 week does not mean they do it weekly. The last article I’ve reading about sell numbers for the PS3 was about the end result of last year for the PS3. That’s well over 2 weeks.
no one releases sales ever 1-3 days. ever. ---

Just because it dropped in Japan does not mean it can’t sell in the rest of the world.
The rest of the world is America. 1 million in Japan, 1 million in America. In order to sell 2 million, it would have to be sold out in both countries. Your logic fails.
1. Estimates
2. The sell rate dropping does not mean it did not sell, it could be a lot of things

There have been no records of selling out in Japan at all.
The previous week it didn’t even sell 100,000.
The last total retail sales in Japan (same week as the corporate document) were less than 1 million. In that same week, it sold a mere 25,000.
THERE IS NO WAY IT COULD BE 2 MILLION SOLD RETAIL.
Want proof?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ps3
http://www.scei.co.jp/corporate/release/pdf/070116e.pdf
http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/19/japanese-hardware-sales-8-jan-14-jan-post-holiday-blues-edit/
So, lets see, if there is truly 2 million sold retail around the world (US and Japan), then it would be sold out, which it is not.
All of those reference to the same week, which is the same week the article posted. Unless within the four days (in fact, the Joystiq article is the 19th) Sony sold around 500,000 (which would be a humongous percentage increase) then you would be right, but that would be a work of God.
Otherwise, the article misworded. ---

Um, the second article is Sony dude.
And that’s not arrogance. You would be referring to ignorance, arrogance is the feeling of false superiority, which I do not feel superior at all right now. I’m also not being ignorant, just stubborn. ---

Oh my god let’s all be ignorant and arrogant. First of all those are shipments. Hell most of those consoles are either still in stores getting dusty or still on a ship coming to either America or Japan. And secondly it’s worldwide. 2 million worldwide. Not just Japan. Wii had shipped 4 million worldwide as of the end of 2006 and ever increasing. And you think 2 million shipped in a greater time period and not a sellout is showing up the Wii. Oh you showed me up just like the PSP showed up the DS.[sarcastic ownage]
You’re still winning wat least.
we might as well not try to reason with them. They dont take reason and fact anything that goes threw to them has to come in through a flame
Haven’t flamed.
Zucas didn’t either, just harsh objection. Unlike you who spewed curses at him and insulted him just because he disagreed.
Oh, and as for fact, I posted fact. From Sony themselves.
No see zucas did flame we just flamed him back like he wanted. And we gave you fact and you didnt take it witch makes you ignorant

That’s well over 2 weeks.
no one releases sales ever 1-3 days. ever.
Actually, that can happen. Those 'rule' or whatever you will call them are not set in stone.
no... there is no way.
Seems Sony has proved otherwise.
It isn’t a law and can be done if wished. it may be more laborious but can be done, especially when the future of your company relies on the product. You’d be watching it 24/7 so that you can act immediately if anything must be done.
no they haven’t becouse they haven’t done so. the sight just read it as sales rather then shipments. it happens all the time. no one would release 2 reports that quickly becouse there would be virtually no change. they sell a lot each day, but a few days aren’t going to make that huge of a difference in comparison to the overall sales. ---
