I’m really leaning towards Vincent here, especially after playing Dirge of Cerberus. However I’m not sure if Vincent could stand up to Sephiroth like Cloud can, this is a pretty tough match.
Cloud can beat Sephiroth remember and Vincent fought Weiss the leader of DG who used two Ketana blades and owned Russo and Azul full power (when Cloud only fought Russo normal strenth).
Vincent vs Weiss was way astonashing compared to anything ive seen Cloud or Sephiroth do their fight blew them Advent Children out of the water.

yeah, but we don’t know what happened with Cloud and Rosso’s fight. It didn’t show anything hardly, all we know is that both combatants survived with little to no injury. I’m betting that Cloud ended up getting attacked by DG soldiers and Rosso just decided to leave in order to track Vinny.

Vincent and Weiss' fight was truly astonishing to say the least. That single fight is the only thing that stops me from declaring Cloud the winner. The Speed in which Vincent moved in that scene was incomparable to anything I had seen in a Final Fantasy game to date.

That is an amazing feat in itself, however Cloud did beat Sephiroth and Sin Bahumut, which are two feats on par with defeating Omega Weapon, the former being the point to argue with.
I’m not convinced that Vincent is strong enough to take on Sephy. Weiss was strong, but he wasn’t as strong as Sephiroth, I can tell this because Genesis seems to be stronger than Weiss (makes me think so because of the secret ending in Dirge of Ceberus) and Sephiroth was either just as strong or stronger than “G”.
So as I said, this argument is a tough one indeed, and them both having access to the same materia doesn’t help the case.
...ill pretend i dident hear you say Sephiroth could touch Weiss and G as in Genasis for that matter ok.
1. you said it yourself Vincent and Weiss fight was greater than anything Cloud and Seph have done in shear speed alone.

3. Weiss fought Azul and Russo full power and pretty mutch owned them with ease kk, Cloud with whatever happend was shown not to have effected Russo this leeds me to belive Cloud isnt as strong as Weiss and nowere near Chaos.

and another thing it bugs me when Bahumut Sin who could bearly destroy a town (infact dident) is compared to a being like OMEGA that would wipe out the earth in a heart beat.
Before I continue with an argument I would like to point out that telling me not to use “probable outcomes” or “theories” is telling me that I can’t defend my character of choice. It’s the reason I gave up on the Cloud versus Squall thread.
You see, I don’t argue like you do, I carry out a logical debate, like a Scientist I am. I combine proven fact with theories based off those facts to come to a decision. When arguing these kind of things it’s impossible to come to a defined outcome using nothing but the proven facts. After all, in a real debate logic is more important than proven fact.
Proven fact says that man evolved from monkeys, but logic defies that answer because although we share most of out genes with them we’re still two completely different organisms.
What I’m trying to say is, half of debating is using logic to fill in any gaps that the facts may leave out of the equation. And thus if you choose to ban me from using my logic then I will refuse to carry on with this debate due to your hypocrisy in the issue.

Anywho, as far as everything goes, I still stand by what I said earlier. There is no proven facts to show that Genesis or Weiss were stronger then Sephiroth, on contrary due to the fact that Shin-Ra called Sephiroth their best even though Genesis and Weiss were in Soldier the possibility of them being stronger is fairly small.
And I don’t think Vincent has the power to take on Sephiroth where as Cloud does. I do believe that it would be a close fight, but to me I just see Cloud prevailing.
Also, correct me if I’m wrong because it has been a while since I played Dirge of Cerberus. But could Vincent control when he turned into Chaos? I remember that when he had the thing ripped from his chest he could control it, but did he regain control when he got the Protomateria back?
Vincent is a bonus character in FF7, you find him in the ShinRa manor basement on disk one.
You have to open a safe on the Manor’s 2 floor first though, the combination is
Right 36, Left 10, Right 59, Right 97
you’ll get the basement key and the odin materia, after that you go to the basement and open the hidden door to find Vincent asleep in the coffin. After talking to him a couple times leave the basement and he’ll ask to join your team in order to get revenge on Hojo.
