Seems like it has gotten worse with kid titles, it’s all we see nowadays. They’re really starting to sellout to the children. They are rapidly pulling away from Sony and Microsoft as far as direction goes. I’m not sure it will work. sad

You have a good point, Nintendo is breaking away from traditional consoles and games, this, cannot be a good thing honestly, while the Wii and DS are selling like hot cakes at the moment, one has to wonder if this will last, data as shown the Wii is slowling down, and i know several people who are dissapointed.

Not only this, but the fact that since the dawn of gaming, we have used the standard controller design, but Nintendo broke away from that, when they had no reason too, except... to get more sales, and this made it irritating for some gamers, after spending years of using the standard controller and falling in love with it, Nintendo had the nerve to try to replace it!

Nintendo knew the wii would fail without the consoles... ADMIT IT, IF THE WII DID NOT HAVE THE CONTROLLER IT WOULD BE HORRIBLE!

And even then, with all the TV’s being broken, people injuring themselves, and the Wiimote just being completely uselss and uncoorinated at times it such a damn hassle.

Nintendo was smart, they knew the Wii had NO CHANCE with the 360 and ps3, so they got some old blue-prints for a controller that would sense in 3-D, they hyped the the thing up until Nintendo fans drooled over it, i myself was one, but now, i don’t even touch the Wii, i’m going to sell it soon, maybe 2 weeks.

I could ramble on and on and on about the HUGE disavantages of the Wii, but i’ll stop here with one last thing... WHERE THE HELL ARE ALL THE GOOD GAMES NINTENDO PROMISED US???

Just my two cents.

Guys, think about who your talking about. Nintendo is the company that revived video games. They gave us Mario, the best series in gaming. And they’re pretty much the only company that innovates. Innovation is the key people. lets encourage it. And Nerevar, the reason Nintendo made the Wii remote was to expand video games to people other than teenagers. When you look at it Wii is pretty much the only console that offers something new from last gen.

Wow, I’m surprised to see that from you Nerevar. The DS has been out for a couple of years now and it’s still crushing the PSP in sells, hell it’s outselling everything just about except the PS2. The reason is the innovation that Nintendo brought with it, the DS, like the Wii was lagging behind it’s competitors in every aspect, it wasn’t as powerful and didn’t offer as good online, and didn’t have as many media capabilities. In fact, in the beginning it’s game selection was worse than the PSP’s, but which sold more? The innovative new piece of technology that’s what.

The Wii is similar to the DS, it’s lagging behind both Sony and Microsoft in just about every aspect and it’s still outselling one of it’s competitors and I believe it’ll only be a matter of time before it begins to outsell the 360.

As for it’s game selection, at least it’s better then the PS3’s, and when it really gets going in the next few months we’ll begin to see the Wii pumping out hit after hit. It’ll begin with Super Smash Brothers Brawl and from there you won’t be able to stop it.

derdev789 wrote: That’s very debatable. What you see as kiddy i see as innovative. Do i care what a game’s graphics look like? Of course not. One of my favorite systems, and the one that I grew up with, was the SNES. At least the games are innovative and different than the norm, have story lines that make sense and add to the story as opposed to Halo 2 where they just confuse the plot and feel like a reworded Halo. If your definite of Kiddy is a young man who wears armor and a sword that slay’s goblins and the undead while fighting the forces of darkness, then the same must go for “kiddy” games like Crash Bandacoot and others of the adventure action genre. How many cases have we seen of the Wii spontaneously catching on fire? What system currently provides a free internet browser? (and access to porn of course) It’s not kiddy gaming it’s old school gaming done right. The classic age of gaming was not 2007 or even 2000, it was durring the NES and the SNES era’s. Try playing the system before you call it kiddy. How much exorcize does your fat ass get playing the PS2 or the Xbox360? None. The wii forces the “fat lazy american’s” to get up and actually move around while playing video games. What system has done well just repeating the preformance of previous systems? None. Every sucessful system has been innovative and that is what made them so highly competative in today’s market. Systems like the NES, SNES, N64, and nintendo’s wide handheld market have been some of the most innovative peices of technology, and they have also kept Nintendo in the video game market for a longer time then any other video game system company. I know your not actually going to read any of this, because you are biased and fanboyish, but I leave you with this final note. Kingdom hearts is a cheap knock off of the final fantasy series, using Disney charactors to appeal to young children. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princes is a classic that has been around since the NES, and each game in the series continues to improve on the already impressive story and gameplay of previous Zelda games. My mind is made up, I expect you to come to your own conclusion. I am just stating why I feel the way that I feel. Before you bash me for my opinion think about what I have brought to the table. If you actually concider what I have said and respond to them justly, you will appear to be much wiser then just a Kingdom Hearts fanboy.

this was for a different debate, but most of it applies here.

I have to disagree... there really isnt anything new. Same kiddy games, same shitty graphics, same performance as the Xbox, same pile of crap.... exept for maybe the controller but that isnt even enough to make me want to buy it.

I mean at least they have better games and performance on the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Oblivion or Resistance wouldnt ever have a chance of working on a Wii...

I mean the Wii costs $250 and thats exactly what your going to get... of course the Xbox costed about that much when it came out... and same with the PS2.

And I agree that Nintendo WAS good back in the day. Now its just a bunch of little kiddy bullshit like pokemon and some other gay games thrown in there.

Mario and Zelda is like the only games that i would play on that system and i can get even better games than those on my Xbox 360...

I would just rather keep my $250 that i would spend on a Wii and save it for my PS3 whenever the price goes down.

not really... its still sold out everywhere. the sales are completely controlled by the shipments. and, as time goes on, of course it will slow down. its still going off of launch hype. any console would slow down after launch.

not from what i have seen. i have only seen people embrace it with open arms. also, in the gaming market, innovate or die. people actually loose interest if you keep putting the same control stile out.

thats like saying the ps3 or 360 would fail without graphics...

no...

they fought the power war with the gc, made the most money, but lost in sales, learned that power wasn’t the way to go, and made the wii. they could have easily fought a power war with ms and sony, but they chose not to.

your blind if you don’t see them. they are here, and more are on the way.

just my 3 cents. pwned. tounge

Wow, this is sad. I’m willing to bet most of you haven’t even tried out the Wii, and dispite everything that we say nothing will change your mind. What ever happened to the gaming public demanding innovation? Seems that you are claiming innovation is a bad thing. Maybe we should downgrade the innovative graphics on your precious PS3 and X360’s? Can’t get too innovative, might make you bust an artery.

wtf? gc was arguably the most powerful system of the last generation. the games have already shown to be targeting a much older audience, as we see with loz: tp being rated t. also, it is much more powerful then the xbox.

tp is the best rated game of the generation. and, a lot of the wii games wouldn’t even come close to being decent on the ps3 and 360.

and the ps2 was the best selling system of the generation. is this a bad thing? that is a standard price for a gaming system, unlike what the ps3 is.

not really.

what about disaster, fire emblem, MP:3, RE, H.A.M.M.E.R., sadness, and ssbb, just to name a few?

k, whatever. but, good luck with that price drop. won’t be happening for a couple of years.

Hey just cause you guys fail at life and waisted your money on the PS3 doesn’t mean you can cry about how you wish the Wii wasn’t currently owning the sales.

ok, so, now your comparing the best games on the gameboy to the worst games on the wii? that statement can be applied to any two gaming machines and it still wouldn’t mean anything.

sales are the only way we can measure public acceptance, and is the best overall way to tell what system 'wins' a console war.

That’s bullshit and you know it, that’s like saying this. I’ve played more compelling games on the Atari than most games on the PSP.

And Beyonce has sex appeal. Sex sells, it’s basic economics.

There is another major thing going on, The wii is doing well yer but if gaming is to survive things need to change.

One other thing Nevnder All those broken tv stories and consoles are by one factor, too many idoits who do not even know how to work a simple remote that is the reason for all the breaking and if your hands start to get to sweaty and you think that the controller would fly out od your hand take a break and wipe them down or wash them and use the strap for gods sake. I still have the first supposed bad strap and nothing bad has happened with my wii yet because I have been using it the right way not like a careless moron.

Good for you, it’ll be tough to get one though, unlike the POS3 the wii is actually popular enough to be difficult to find, were as the POS3 makes a fine doorstop in most gaming shops.

wii already has plenty of solid games. keep in mind, its still launch. you can’t expect everything immediately. when i got the wii, a lot of my thinking was that the potential would, in the long run, make it well worth my money. so far, i have yet to regret buying the wii, and i see a strong 2007 for it. its games will only get better as devs learn what to do and what not to do with the controls, and learn to master them to give the best experience possible. the system has so much potential its amazing.
