Ah could be, I never personly had Zelda.
You could save in final fantasy and the dragon warrior er, or was it 'quest'? And I guess a bunch after that as well.
Lol, clearly I am the expert here

Late night sleepovers, trying to beat the damn games 'cause you couldn’t save them. Almost making it and then realizing that your lack of sleep and stiff controller hands were no match for the final level. Only to attempt the challange once more...next weekend.
Athough many from my generation would rally behind me and fight for the forgotten system!!! Never forget your past my friends...NEVER!!!
I know where you are coming from as I was at the right age when Nintendo came out with the NES. However, actually playing those old games now compared to the newer games. Their not even worth 10 seconds of fun anymore. Those old NES games may even be funner for the newer generation then us old school hags. lol

Old Hag!!!
Watch who you’re talking to buster!
Ah well, truth be told, it’s the only system I ever owned, and even then only because I bought it cheap at a garage sale after they stopped making the games. I had to go to my neighboroughs to play when I was younger. (she had nintendo; I had the computer games)
Meh, don’t regret it though. I think I’m much better off having spent most of my time outdoors. They make the games so good now kids don’t bother not playing.

strychnine in the guacamole Rep: 34 Joined: 06 Jan 2006 Posts: 14,732 ONLINE | But Yeah, the memories. Oh man I’ve had soo many sleepovers playing NES games until 4 in the morning. I remember one time my buddy and I built a little hut over a water stream outside and threw blankets on top for the roof (somewhat of a tent over water). We brought a big TV to the hut and joined about 50 extension cords to reach the hut all the way from the house. I remembered earlier that day we rode our bicycles like 5 miles to a store that would actually let us minors rent a game (Ninja Gaiden NES). We then bought a bunch of Soda and cookies with money earned from mowing peoples lawns. We played the very first Ninja Gaiden all night in our hut until we got to the Last guy then water some how fried the power cord from the house and instant shut down and had to restart the game from the beginning on a new TV (because the other TV was fried as well obviously). Man, it seemed soo cool to us back then. Easily entertained I guess.
