It’s not meant to be anti-climatic, it’s supposed to be a good fight.
You’d know that if you simply forgot those idiotic loopholes of Anikin not being able to be hooked up to the Matrix (which I don’t see why he couldn’t be hooked up to it) or Neo not having his powers in the real world.

No, it was decent if you were to simply give each character their powers, neverminding stupid technicalities.

Errgh, fine then, like I said it’d just be for the sake of a longer, more entertaining argument, but whatever.
Neo flies in, mach 3 (or however fast he can fly) and punches off Joker’s head on the way by.
Joker isn’t going to learn THAT fast, even if he is more experienced on the mind than Neo, the fact being that the Joker has to learn about the Matrix, while Neo already knows all there is to know.
