-rap in da 80’s sucks
- simple rhymin on da block sucks
- good rap sucks
- christian rap sucks
-Tupac’s style of rap sucks (emotional rap thing about being dead and back to life)
- anything that involves rhyming to a beat sucks
most people think rap is the rap music played on the radio this decade. no it’s not. think before you speak. To me, the rock of today that people now like, are for bitches that think they have a bad life when they don’t have:
- gunshots in their hood
- split families
- dying homies
- cops on their case when they did nothing
why don’t you watch the movie Boyz in the Hood then you know what I’m talkin about

Juggz Guest | Ok, 2.2.6, I love hip hop and all but I gurantee you’re just going to attrack dumb ass people on here by stating what happens throughout our communities. We do live through some fucked up shit, as does everyone. If they say rap sucks, that’s ok because they got an opinion, even though they know nothing of the culture that’s still their ignorant opinion. You can look around this board and go to a page that talks about a rock musician and not find one hate responce from a person who likes rap. Shit, i’ve seen some rappers go on there and talk about how they like the shit. But then you can go on a Freestyle Rap board and fine dozens and dozens of rockers or people who listen to w/e music, say rap sucks because they have no idea what its like to live like that. They say rap is only about Girls, cars, and diamonds. Even though that accusation is false atleast it’s better than the expression of sex, drugs and rock n roll. Im not even going to go on and say what rappers dont rap about girls, cars or diamonds because that list is way to long. To all the people saying Hip Hop sucks, atleast know the fucking background before saying shit. We all know that all rock is about is shouting and having sex and doing drugs.

gunslang Guest | hahaha, your not wrong about the rock part, although you got the name wrong, that’s Emo your talking about, which is unfortunately popular (both the style and the music).
It’s very rare that I like a rap song, but its usually just not my thing, I like metal, rock.. (jazz too). I enjoy the power and technical brilliance of a good progressive metal song, and the cryptic, multi layered meanings in the lyrics.
there are one or two rap songs I think are alright, I cant think of any by name though.. whats that one with elton john playing the piano?
I think maybe it’s a cultural difference thing, from what I’ve seen and heard, rock is mainly white music while the rap is mainly black... well, not that you can really give music a colour (unless its in the genre name...*cough* black metal), but you know what I mean..
also, where does rap metal come into things?

I dont have anything against rock. I like SOME rock, but if people want to speak about my culture in that sort of manner by saying all it is, is a beat and swear words, that’s fucked up. I only said that because thats how people are talking about my favorite music like that.
Rap Metal I actually like. But, Rockers will say “Oh the rapper ruined the song” and the hip hoppers will say “Oh, the rocker ruined the song”. People are just stupid. The song you’re talking about with elton john is either “Stan” by Eminem or “Ghetto Gospel” by tupac.

gunslang Guest | Ghetto Gospel, thats the one, that one was awesome...
I get what you mean about people saying crap about music they don’t know anything about (Though I will argue to the death about that one rap band with the dodgey face paint that I don’t like), in the end though it doesn’t really matter what anyone but you thinks about the music you listen to..
hah, talking about gun shots, I just got off the target range.
(also, for anyone who’s never been in a firefight, being shot at is SUCH a rush. I wouldn’t recommend making a habit of it though, it has the possibility to be very bad for your health.)

gunslang Guest | also, whats with these goons who go posting things like 'rock is for fags, rap is great' or vise versa... especially when they don’t back up their initial outburst with something intelligible... And I’m pretty sure some people are mixing up l33t sp33k and gangsta slang JUST to confuse everyone.
oooh, I haven’t registered my name, I’m gonna go do that now.
bloody hell, I’m easily distracted.

I’ve seen the one where he goes to find out about the bloods and crypt gangs (is that the right spelling?). Its scary stuff, they show him around their weaponry and talk to him about how they got into gangs and things like that.
(I’ve never seen a non-military gang with better weapons handling and maintenance skills than these gangs, even if their marksmanship is shoddy as hell)

Juggz Guest | I’ve seen a gang documentary called “Slippin':Ten years with the bloods” and it was a good anti-gang documentary actually. Gangs are just scum really, I dont care if someones dad, brother, bestfriend or sister is a gang member, they’re all scum.

but thats kind of on a tangent to the theme of this forum I think...
