12 Years After Emergence-Day.
Chapter Zero.
A sudden gust of wind caught James by surprise, followed by a sudden sensation of vertigo, he leaned to the left, the bulky uniform he was wearing jabbed into his ribs, but he’d gotten used to it after 5 years of wearing it.
He remembered/realized he was on a King Raven.
En-route to the outskirts of the City of Daewoo, the largest city on Sera... and one of the last,
it was one of the 7 remaining major cities left, although James objected the fact that it’s still considered left, large satellite bombardment several years ago had left major parts of the city in ruins, but it still stood.
James removed his helmet for a moment, he was the private scrub, he had close to no honor except for a few battles, he was still too nervous to go into a battle with his helmet off,
James took a large breath, and then put his helmet back on, he looked around the helicopter, 2 other soldiers who also wore helmets sat inside the helicopter. and one other, who wore no helmet, he had graying hair, his face filled with wrinkles, but his eyes raged with fire and anger, as if the loss of every single civilian was a block of wood being thrown into a furnace in his eyes.
A voice cam onto the king ravens speaker system, a male, but James had no clue who. “Alright Zulu squad, your drop is coming up, warning, many reports have called this area a very hot-drop-off zone."
James checked his lancer rifle, the chainsaw was too rusty to be used, he would have to replace it on the battlefield, but the actual rifle segment worked fine.
He felt no resistance as he was flung off the seat and onto the floor of the king raven, they had just stopped, he opened his eyes to see himself looking at the boots of his Sargent, he rose. The Sargent still saying nothing.
the king raven began descending, James looked out the side of the king raven, about 15 meters above the ground, 14 now, he looked around, the area was a street, was being the key word, the buildings were bombed out, and the streets were full of holes, and bumps. The King raven bobbed up and down, it was now on the ground, James hopped out, a small metal clang could be heard from his heavy metal boots impacting the ground.
This was just a short chapter to get things a goin.
