I don’t think they should be forced to be deleted. Personally, there might be some messages I want to keep that are fairly old, that also might be deleted after a time. I’d rather the mass delete button (like the moderator delete scheme) than an auto-delete after a certain date.
EDIT: Then again, 104 pages of PM’s isn’t exactly appealing to delete even with that feature. o.o

Yeah, a delete all button would be nice, but then.. As you said, it doesn’t allow us to pick and choose which PMs we want to keep.
And while we’re talking about PMs, Bjarne. Something that has bothered me for a LONG time with them is the fact that what is shown is the first bits of what is in the PM. I think that PMs should run on the same script as topic creation, in that we can have a PM topic name to quickly describe what the PM is about instead of viewing the first bits of a PM.

i definately think that should be optional
some of those pms i have are quite old

Well, the idea was just for sent messages. The messages you received wouldn’t be deleted automatically. Only the ones in your sent folder. You know? So you shouldn’t be losing any person messages? It’s what Myspace does. lol

Yeah, a delete all button would be nice, but then.. As you said, it doesn’t allow us to pick and choose which PMs we want to keep.

why don’t we just have it so we can hit a button on a pm that says “save”, and that puts it in a different folder. you can do a mass clear of all non-saved pms, or you can deleat saved (or not saved) pms one by one.

I’m not trying to put you down, just thought I’d explain why you couldn’t do it.. Unless ofcourse you made the actual signature box a certain size, so it wouldn’t stretch if you had a bigger image, but that would make alot of people angry, considering how it would distort the picture.
