Besides the still-in-progress design changes on www.moviecodec.com (some of which may find their way to the lounge depending on feedback), who can guess what I just finished implementing today and am testing with my own account?????
I do believe that it works the way it should. But for safety’s sake this is what I will be doing:
1) taking it slow, only doing a few account renames a week
2) whenever I do an account rename I will note down exactly which account was renamed (userid, old and new username) (so I can manually roll it back if necessary)
The thing is that doing an account rename requires around 9 different updates to an unknown number of individual rows (ie. messages, topics etc.). I am doing it the right way tho, using transaction, so if it fails in the middle of trying to rename an account it will rollback the entire transaction and nothing will be changed.
Have you gotten my PM on my Darth Nihilus account?
Probably :-) But I generally am a bit slow on reading up on PMs. I will reply to it eventually :/
edit: In fact I ought to make a auto-start text whenever I click reply on a PM: so that it automatically inserts “Sorry about this late reply :/" at the start of every PM-reply I make, I seem to be writing that anyway almost all the time lol
