What IPs?
They show where you are and such, and can find out whether someone is using another account and such to fool someone, and among other things.

Oh that what it is.That will be cool thing to do, be able to read other people IPs.

It would be useful for you in the VS forum, seeing as how guests love to post 3-4 times and say “xxx would win” just to make it seem like people support that character more.

Yes, it would. Also since I found out that one user names Invaderzym is posing as Ultraman on his other account, and has denied it, even though Tyreaus has confirmed this.
I also have moved some of the threads that do not belong in the VS forums to where they belong.
Bjarne, I have another suggestion. I think that forum moderators should be able to read the IPs of members and guest in that particular forum, and also ban if it is needed in case any rules are broken.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but forum Moderators can already ban? Or do you mean IP ban?
Either way, I don’t think ti’s a good idea, higher powers such as that should be withheld tot he real mods.
Not IP ban. Just like a 24 hour ban. And I only meant to say check the IPs because some people in the forums like to use other accounts or pose as a guest to fool someone. And I am not able to ban, not yet anyway.

I’ll take back what I said. I have a better suggestion. For the section moderators, instead of banning people from the site, how about just banning them from a certain section of the site?
BTW, did anyone notice any speed difference on this site (as well www.moviecodec.com) starting earlier this week?
Technicalily, when you browse around it should be up to 1 second faster to fetch the individual entire pages. This is because I have applied expiry headers to all images on the site, so your browser doesn’t need to check whether there’s a new version of each image every time you go to another topic or forum...
I have a few more optimizations in mind, but generally, the server isn’t really having any problems whatsoever, but still optimizations are good ;-)
The “bad” effect of these changes is that now it may take up to one hour when you change your avatar before you can see the change on the site.... (unless you click “reload” in your browser I believe)

It would help. Leave banning members from the site to the admins, and banning members from certain sections to the section moderators.
