ps3 has all the ps2 and ps1 games, so thats about 1400 games already, and it has heaps of hit titles coming to ps3 as well like ff13, assasins creed, i mean ps2 lost heaps of exclusives such as spyro(one of the biggest hits on ps1) and crash bandicout
Get it straight. PS3 will not inherit that lineup. And actually the PS2 lineup was closer to 2000 last I heard. PS3 just isn’t mass market like the PS2. And yes it has huge titles but overall it’s lineup does not even compare to the lineups and support that the Wii and 360 have.

no it was more like 7,000 for ps2 and 3,000 for ps1...
Yea I think even my last numbers were off. Yea 6,000 was probably a more reasonable answer. And I think I saw that somewhere actually. Damn where did I see that.
1 thing thats holding back oportunity buyers of ps3 is the hd dvd vs blu ray dvd war, once the blu ray format finally wins (which is currently winning) then more people will feel secure buying the blu ray ps3

Yeah but thats slowing Sony down, they think all people care about is HD movies, soo they put all of their system practicly into that Blue-Ray player and left out a lot of important things, for 1 gameplay and games, thats what people want!!!!!!!

People aren’t going to buy a PS3 for a blu ray player. 80% of the buyers of the PS2 are casual gamers not hardcore ones. They aren’t thinking well if I get the PS3 I not only get a cheap blu-ray player I also get a gaming console. No people won’t see that in that $600 pricetag. They are going to say what the fuck $600 for a video game console. Fuck that I’m getting a Wii or even 360. The casual gamers aren’t looking to jump “next generation”. They are looking for the true predecessor to the PS2. That isn’t the PS3 in this generation. The predecesorrs have gone NES to SNES to PS1 to PS2 and it’s not going to be PS3 in the next line. It just doesn’t give what those 80% of casual gamers want.
It doesn’t have an affordable pricetag and it doesn’t have a huge, diverse game lineup. The true heir to the PS2 is most likely the Wii and even possibly the 360. Brandname doesn’t mean shit when you make an unreasonable price.
the ps3 has been majourly future proofed, thats why its got hdmi and all this content to boot, and also has the most powerful graphics,(if people would just read how it worked) and becuase the ps3 does all the ps2 games software wise not hardware it can improve the resolution just like a ps1 emulator on pc
its not always late, ps2 made most of its sales in the second half while others pretty much stopped, all ps3 needs is a price drop and then people wont go woah shit thats bloody mint but expensive, when i saw ps3 for my first time yesturday i thought wow it looks like a million bucks with that super clean shine and silver streak, everything about the console just says to u im big im expensive and im the bigest bang
Basicly it’s time to get over the past. The PS2, Gamecube and Xbox are no longer among us and are not the main focus for any company. The CURRENT GEN (stop calling it next gen fucktards) are the systems that are going to run the market with games and appliances, so stop living in the past people.
