Umm, Actually English is the most popular language today in the world of business and science. So in some ways it is universal. Plus English incorporates a lot of words from other languages.

Eh. I hear the word universal, and I think “Every nation in the world has at least 3/4 of the population fluent in it” which is ironic when so many native English speakers (both UK and US) are incapable of properly using their official language.
ACTUALLY.....Mathematics is the TRUE universal language, as it is the same in any language. Thats why they send match equations into space, hoping to get a reply.

That’s part of what makes it a little harder to learn English. You used the example of Spanish. Languages with specific rules about word placement make it easier to learn because it will always be that way. You don’t have to memorize and learn 15 ways to say the same thing.

English is harder to learn. Actually it’s probably in the top three toughest languages to learn, but it’s still easier to speak (once you learn it) without all those rules.

Yeah that’s pretty much true. Except for some Japanese engineers. And I know this because my uncle has had to go to Japan, and has had to learn some amount of Japanese I think.

Inside any country, the native language is probably used, but internationally it’s probably English.

There are polite and impolite ways of saying things and if you use the wrong one, its like flinging shit ant someone

If I could pick a language besides Spanish to learn, it would definetly be Latin.
Yeah, Freedom_Fighter says she plans on taking Latin next year, but I don’t think I am for a few reasons.
1. Latin is an Advanced Placement class, and I’m only in Honors, not gifted (cuz I don’t do the work =P)
2. Spanish and French follow me around (mostly spanish), and they’re similar to Latin (they ARE romance languages after all) so I think it’d be annoying.
3. Latin doesn’t have as much real world value as some other languages I could take.

That’s cool. The little German I know is fairly shaky, seeing as I learned it by listening to lots of Rammstein and some Oomph!
