Per say, lets all pretend God does not exist, nor the Devil, or anything like that.
And lets say, that there is no good or evil, no black or white or grey.
Then, lets pretend that evolution made us think that what is doing good is truthfully good, but what if, perhaps, in reality, killing someone is no different then poking someone in cruelty or kindness.

Well, if there is no good and evil, I don’t see how evolution could have us know what good is. Since in this world it doesn’t exist.
But without good, evil, black, white, etc, humanity would be in its purest state. We would be hunting, and relying on our instincts, etc.
If you mean in modern times, if everything was stripped of the label “good” or “evil”, then I think people would just do whatever they pleased. Of course there is always the human conscience, but I don’t think that without anything to rely on or compare to it would do much good.
I’m not sure what you are asking though, it’s a pretty confusing question.... maybe try wording it differently?

good exists, people just try to make it more complicated than it really is
i think i see what he’s saying...if there is not a universal universal compass, then how all we can go off of is our own. how do we know if ours is off or not?

Good is an idea. There is no set standard for what good is. Ever. Because there is always someone who thinks something else.

Ok, what if evolution has made us think helping others, being nice, etc, is really being evil or not being good.
What if we are all just blind, evolution just picked for those things to be “the good thing” because they benefit us as a species.
But in reality, outside our broad thinking ability and span of sight, everything is neither good or bad, it just in between.
So, if that is true, then hitting someone could be counted as kindness, which may seem absurd to some, it could be truth when you think about it.
Ummm... so anything you do is considered good or what? Or are you saying a kind of mirror universe in where what we perceive as good is really bad and vice versa?

That is why world peace is unattainable.
Excellent response.

Both, thats my point, it could be one of those two, or be both in reasonings beyond our understandings.

Well then that would kind of strip us of our instincts. The most powerful instinct is self-preservation, which applies to the individual and to the species. So for us to see killing each other as fine, then like DG said, we would go extinct pretty fast. Because for us to just kill each other and not have our instincts tell us it’s wrong... not even wild animals live like that.
