Ok well I just got my PS3 a couple of days ago and I decided to do a non-biased review.
Well lets start shall we?
Design The PS3 looks like a bulkier PS2 but with more curves. It has a slot loading drive instead of disc tray. It has a little hidden place where you can connect memory cards. Although the PS3 is heavy because it contains its power block inside the console instead of the huge brick the 360 has outside.
GraphicsThe ps3’s graphics vary greatly. For example we got Resistance Fall of Man and Call of Duty 3. Most multi-platform games on the PS3 looks worse than the 360 versions. Mainly in detail, textures and lighting. I tried 1080p on the PS3 and it looks absolutely fantastic.
User Interface The Playstation 3’s XMB,Cross Media Bar , is very simple and you will find the things you are looking for very fast and easy. I prefer this dashboard over than the 360’s complicated and hard to find items any day.
Connectivity The PS3 supports different memory cards,Memory Stick,Compact flash and SD. So you can transfer video and music from the memory holders onto the PS3’s hard drive. You can control your PS3 with your PSP if you want. it comes with WIFI inside so you don’t have to use an Ethernet cable to connect to the internet. Also, you can hook up a keyboard and/or mouse if you want to use that to enter information while you are surfing the net.
Online Well setting up an account is very simple. They ask you for the usual stuff and a credit card is not required and best of all it is FREE! Once you set up an account you can use a picture on your hard drive as your gamerpicture, change your online status, and leave a comment on your gamertag. The PLAYSTATION Network store is very simple you get 5 choices: Featured,Demos,Games and trailers. The featured section features all the new stuff that was just released on the store network. The Demos section contains game demos some multi-player and single player only. The GAMES section features PSP games and arcade games. You can buy PSP games for 5.99 and then play them on your PSP VIA wifi. Overall I felt the Playstation store was a bit barren, but Sony is planning to release MUSIC and MOVIES via the store so soon you will get a lot more to choose from. Now the Online gaming part is where it falls a bit short. First off you need to buy your own BLUETOOTH headset which is about 80 US dollars. Next for some reason during Resistance online games the people you played with don’t appear in your played players list which can only be accessed in the PS3 main menu so you will have to write their ID name during the game on a piece of paper. The web browser is pretty good it supports flash player so you can watch videos on the net. You can also download objects straight onto your HD. The only complaint I have for the Web browser is it sometimes messes up on the resolution, but you can fix that by going into settings,
Controller The PS3 controller is very lightweight lighter than the Wiimote. They added triggers where the L2 and R2 buttons where it feels more comfortable now. The dual thumbsticks are perfect for shooters. SIXAXIS hasn’t been used that much only for mini games and such but when Lair comes out we will truly see it in action.Oh and I almost forgot rumble is not in the PS3 controller, but you won’t even notice it trust me. I played the PS3 for two days straight without noticing the only reason I noticed was because I read it.
Overall The PS3 is a very good system with decent online with flaws but those problems can be easily fixed via firmware updates. My rating is a
8.5/10

price is not a problem for all so shouldnt be considered when reviewing a console, the games are personal preferance, but ps2 didnt exactly do well at launch titles, but it turned out good.
ps3 is doing a ps2, where it costs sony lots of money on each console, bad launch games, expensive console. yet people just dont think that its the same thing hapening? god whats with this world!
