What a dumbass. Company sales do not benefit the consumer in any way. What sucks is being a nintendo fan for the fact that their shitty console(s) come nowhere close to the goodness of the 360 and the PS3. It’s practically a last-gen console, which is pretty sad.
oh really? system sales means games sales (larger audience) more game sales means more games. more games equals awesomeness. wii also equals awesomeness.
The PSP really isn’t doing all that bad; it still gets quite a few exclusives (and good ones at that; see R&C: SM, Lumines 2 and MGS: PO for reference) and Sony still supports it heavily.
Last time I checked, none of us live in japan, stop using japan as a last resort to make sony look good.
Japan is considered to be a major factor in the success of a console, and they’re probably the few that release officially any sales records on consoles weekly.
But, this doesn’t make the PSP look good for one reason: Its main competitor (DS lite) is still nearly 2:1 over PSP.
Hmm... notice how the DS “Phat” is behind the FREAKING GAMEBOY MICRO?! I reference this because Sony is going to release a revision of the PSP... could the revised PSP recieve the same success as the revised DS?
In other news, the 360 is behind the PS2 in sales this week. LOL

Well...
The Phat did amazing before lite came out. It alone was trumping the PSP. Then DS lite just multiplied it by 2, or more. So, based on that, it won’t do as well as lite.
Unless you mean will the revised PSP do what the lite did and be sold like its predecessor, then maybe.

Secondly, some of you guys act as if the DS is better than the PSP for the fact that the DS sold more. How stupid is that? I don’t know.
That’s basically like saying a 13 inch CRT television set with mono sound is better than a 30 inch LCD tv with advanced technology since the cheaper, less valuable item sold more. Some of you need to get it through your heads that the PSP’s technology >>> DS’s. I understand some of you will bitch about this once you read it, and it’s the plain truth. The only thing DS fans have to gloat about is the fact that the DS is selling more, and that’s it. Heck, I wouldn’t care if a bandwagon was selling 10x as much as a Nissan for the fact that more people preffered getting the bandwagon. That symbolizes the relationship between the PSP and the DS, not the very best example. The idea is the same.

The DS has a better game selection and it’s funner to play overall because of the touch screen. The only reason I even kept a PSP was because of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.

I know the DS has more games on it than the PSP. In fact it has much more.
I was saying the PSP as a seperate item is better than the DS, in terms of power, graphics, sound quality, heck it has a bigger screen, playes movies, also the media format holds a lot more data than he DS’s. And of course, there are things the DS is better in. Overall, the PSP is the better and more valuable item, whether fans want to believe it or not.

I see what you’re saying now, I say the same thing actually. In fact you could ask a number of people here, when I’m asked about which is better I have the same response.
The PSP is a much better piece of hardware, but the DS is a better gaming device. The PSP is a small media center, capable of playing video, audio, viewing images, and browsing the internet. The only two problems with the PSP is the lack of great games and the fact that it comes with a 30 MB memory stick, hell I’d choose the PSP over an ipod for music if I had a 4 gig stick with it.
