Tuscan - I think it would be worth going to see a doctor. If you don’t like the idea of being put on meds, indicate that you prefer an alternative and ask if they can recommend anything.

It could be mild depression...but then mild depression can also be a sub-problem of other conditions.

tuscan, before a prognosis of probable depression could be made, a doctor would have to access your lifestyle and current circumstances.

There are a few things that can cause such symptoms.

Always tired. This could be caused by a Iron deficiency as Mimi said, high blood pressure, high stress, low glucose blood levels, poor diet, over exertion, poor sleeping habits. here are a few more but you get the idea

Short tempered. Again this an be caused by poor sleeping habits, poor diet, high salt intake, stress, high blood pressure, anxiety, frustration ect

Dwell on problems. It is common to think too much on a problem when you have too much time on your hands, this can also be a factor of stress, a feeling of needing a change, situational changes, low salt and sugar levels and even just a over activity in the brain.

Hate nearly everything. This is the easy one, Stress, poor diet, high blood pressure, low sugar levels, high salt levels, lack of or poor sleep, external stimuli like work or other circumstances not under your control, anxiety. there are a great many things that can make a person get cagey.

Cant stop thinking about the past. Is there something you wish to change, a regret maybe. thinking about the past is often a sign of regret or reflection and normally happens when we either remaniss or reflect about the past events for good memories or to objectively see where we may have gone wrong because we have a regret or dislike the situation we are currently in.

The important thing to remember is that we cant change the past. We can yield important information as not to repeat the mistakes of the past or snatch good memories to aid us in current times of stress.

So i am leaning towards that something has happened in your your life recently that has altered your perception on your current circumstances. I know that you recently started work again, how is that going, I know it probably doesn’t leave you with as much time as you are used to.

Perhaps it is best to go see you doctor and just get him to do an assessment on you. Get your blood levels checked and see what he/she thinks. It could be depression but it could also be any one of the things listed above. Best thing I can recommend is if you are having a hard time with life or that something has happened recently, is that you talk to someone, then see your GPsmiley

take care Tuscan. I really hope that you feel better soon mate.

best wishes.

Dude, I know where you’re coming from with not liking the idea of being medicated. I resisted taking ADD medication for 7-8 years. But now I finally decided to give it a chance, and it helps.

If you are depressed and an anti-depressant can help, take it. It’s better than suffering from depression all the time, and it can’t hurt to just give it a try.
