I finally decided to get a hosting account, so here’s a few drawings I did for http://mxovault.ign.com/ the first two got posted
but I never gave them the third one cause they pissed me off

there are newer versions of the last 2, but not scanned

I’m in talks with a gallery in Toronto, and a restaurant, about showing/selling my art, so *crosses fingers*

thank ya thank ya very mush

i really like your face drawings up there, the shading is sweet

I barely manage my way through art programs, and rarely ever finish working on drawings, so usually only use programs to do minor edits and flood filling

I don’t have the patience to learn to shade, or colour, with one

I watched your YouTube vid, and may use it, and you, as referance for a drawing

heh The GunSlung Hero

great use of Intermission in the vid by the way, Tool has inspired most of my Art since 1995, especially my Third Eye drawings

yeah that was originally just a practice sketch that I redid as what you see. it’s all simplistic inkwork, especially the anime looking background, that I used for the art classes I was teaching

yay, I’m a source of inspiration for someone! lol..

Tool is an incredible band..

I like the style of that one, its very gritty, and not so symmetrical as the other faces you’ve done. makes it look more real.

try photoplus 6, you can download it free from the serif website, it takes a little playing with to get used to, but its a good program.

use a layer and go over the outline of your drawing, then make another layer underneath that, use a cut/select tool to mark areas and then use the fill effect, remember to keep the outline on the layer on top. then delete the background image and merge layers

I suck at computer stuff, so I’ll stick to the Inking part of your question

I pencil all of my work first, and quite often do several different variations {photo copying and retracing my originals} that way I can play with the idea, and redo it if I mess up

This is the end result of the original drawing, but I am working on several variations like this one

Inking is the last thing you want to do since there’s no going back

when I draw I make sure to give myself multiple lines to choose from, like on the arms and legs of this drawing {from 1997}

if you look close at the areas where the pencil and ink meet, you’ll see that my pencils are rounded and sketchy, but the ink lines are strong and exact.

Another example of penciling, from a much newer drawing that I haven’t started inking yet

I hope some of this helps

thank ya muchly

I grew up on the typical Marvel comics, but loved Sandman, Swamp Thing and many of the Euro/DC dark comics.

I was invited to work for/with Image comics {Rob Liefeld’s Extreme Studio’s} but hated his art, and didn’t want to work with someone I had no respect for lol

I try to meld Fantasy Horror art, like Brom {my favourite fantasy artist} with the ideas, and inspiration, of Maynards words and Alex Grey’s art

they have a tendency of prying open my third eye wink

lol not really, this was a doodle in my sketchbook, that I draw in while on the 2 hour BusRide down to Toronto

this and the other third eye drawing started off as crappy doodles, then I start feathering them {feathering is the style of linework I do} and they turn into incredible, but flawed, creations.

Which I kind of like

but yeah, any {or most} of my drawings?.........r-r-r-r-r-r-r-e-e-e-a-l-l- fuckin high on drugs skewed perspective

plus I like the illusion it creates, as the linework becomes more and more 3-D shadowed, the flatness stands out in the eyes, and the 3rd eye
