Also, to any other Mods that might read this, you guys might want to keep a check on the freestyle rap thread from time to time. It is to my understanding that Racism has been prominent in the thread before.
lay off a bit, EG always says “nigga” to people. Plus it’s not that big deal. You start getting a tight hold of that thread and that will draw out some members that come here so lay off a bit.

I just don’t think it’s right, there isn’t really any way to tell everybody that if they’re offended to contact a mod, and if we just let it slide it would be unjust to any other threads.
I think we could all come to a solution though, however it will not end up in letting them use the word freely, it is a racial slur and it does offend people. .E_G-THA 2 FACED KID wasn’t even using it in a rap, he was using it in a racial way towards Apocalyptic Gladiator.
Now at the moment I don’t have the time to examine the thread because I have to leave, however if somebody could relay them all a message for me I would be very appreciative. Tell them that if they must use the word to please censor it as so; “n*****". The same applies to other racial terms as well, censor the word and we won’t have any problems. It’s either that or the mods edit the posts and ban/warn the users.
Or we can take the long route and request that Bjarne implement a censoring code that would automatically censor any given racial terms.
It’s a bit of a complicated issue really. Personally, I would like to see the word go altogether...if we’re saying it isn’t acceptable elsewhere on the site, then it doesn’t seem fair to make an allowance just for a few threads.
But, I can also understand the point of view that it is a word that is used a lot in rap culture. But then people wind up using it outside of actual rapping in those threads and sometimes use it with a clear intent to insult. The rap threads seem to attract quite a lot of problems.
Cid - I like your idea of censoring the word. Let’s see if Weeman and GR agree or have any other ideas.
It doesn’t seem like the people in the thread will censor the word though. I honestly don’t know if this can be solved without either banning them or asking Bjanre for an auto censor on any racial slurs, personally I’d rather go with the latter option. Editing the posts manually would be a damn near full time job, and as you said allowing them use of the word and banning others from it is unjust.
