How long until the PS2 goes the way of the DODO?

I give it ........10 Months before games dont get developed for the system (well decent ones anyhow)

Then another 6 months for people to realise that sony have ceased support for the aging system.

So all in all, a bit over a year, the PS2 will be Officially dead. well thats my prediction anyhow.

Not for a long time, at least another year. Expect them to even spice the system up more..new colors ect..

Yeah, the whole color thing is an old marketing trick used to boost sales when thins are going hard for the company. New colors still wont really prolong the system though. Just sell more units.

I hope they continue making some excellent games for the system, however things have already started to drop off on the new release front.

Now don’t get me wrong. I love my PS2. I have over 90 games for the bloody thing( I’ve been collecting for a while now )

I just think that the Ps2 is on its way out. The PS3 may be loosing sales but it still is Sony’s best shot at competing for a piece of the market. You can’t win a console war with outdated technology. It’s like taking a water pistol to a gun fight. You make the occasional impact but you run out ammo pretty quickly and then you get shot to crap.

Sony will soon realize this and put all their effort into the PS3. Its the only way they stand a chance and they know it.
