Either way it doesn’t matter since Cloud didn’t originate on a Nintendo system.... at least to my knowledge.

they don’t have to originate on a nintendo system they have to have appeared on a nintendo system

Not really, Nintendo officially stated that for a third party character being in SSBB, it has to originate on a Nintendo system. Unless it’s Sonic of course.

you know what would be cool as a course a nintendo stadium a big stdium with a dirt floor similar to a roman stadium no way to fall off but you can be knocked up, and every once an da while various nintendo character will pop up and do something to break the stadium or hurt people (like the pokemon stage in the first super smash bros only more extreme)
