Oh, you have to go to your computer’s control panel, go to internet properties, click network connecion, find your connection, right click it, click on properties and at the bottom of that page it says “show notification when connected, click it on and press OK after that a small icon should appear on your start bar at the bottom of your screen.

Surely it can’t be that. I know my cable is shared with my neighborhood, and it’s 2am here now and all those fuckers are asleep and not stealing my bandwidth.

Perhaps you’re cable is also sharing, but you’re in a much more densely populated area?

My service is supposedly 10mb. With 256 up. That 10 varies depending on neighborhood load.

Your service the same? Or is it a dedicated DSL line?

Cos if your 16MB you should be getting a lot more than 3,000 and if I’m 10MB I shouldn’t be getting 13,000. Maybe I’m 15MB then.

Absolute crap upload tho for that kind of download. I’d happily swap 2,000 down for just 1,000 up.

Yeah something is not right. Even with the server being 100 miles away you should be achieving way higher than that. I scored higher than that using the Japan server. 16MB/s is damn fast. I wonder if something is wrong with the cable lines through your house/neighborhood, or are you using a wireless network?

Is there not some kind of software that can calibrate this problem?
