I have read your rules, I’ve been respecting them however, I would just like to say even tho sexual preferance is still a bad thing to discriminate, you also have to respect other people’s point of views as for the racial aspect. Example, in Jamaica, its illegal to be homosexual ... what if I was from Jamaica lol ? I’m not but I don’t think “opinions” regarding sexual preferance is a good reason to ban because not all cultures and races are supporting homosexuality in the first place so you can’t have the sexual preferance rules and still keep the respect between the races. There are also religious issues preventing certain members from thinking of the homosexual issue with respect or empathy.
I post regularily on the “freestlye rap” forum. Part of the poetry we use is based on insulting the opponent. The rules can’t be bent for just our forum, but my suggestion is on behalf of everyone there as we don’t want to cause trouble and are simply trying to keep the peace in the forum, and keep the moderators from having to come talk to us everyday for doing it. Thank you for the compromise with the “n” word by the way though I’m glad the moderators fixed that problem anyway. We get alot of guests who use those terms or “new guys” abusing the term. The compromise was good. If you can’t suggest anything to our forum, or change anything that would involve changing the rules, Perhaps another compromise or suggestions of whats appropriate terminology WHILE RAPPING is the only thing I’m concerned about.
Thank you and without you this place would be alot worse so even though not everyone is gona like your rules, there has to be some form of control on the site.
One more thing ! I read Bjarne’s post about users with more than 500 posts getting moderator privledges. What exactly are moderator privledges ?Are all users entitled after 500 posts ? Thanks.

Baybee - I do understand what you’re saying. However, there is a big difference between holding a particular ideology and openly using inflammatory terms.
To use the example of race - there are people on this forum who we know have particular ideologies towards race that might be offensive to us. However, we don’t ban them for holding these ideologies....only if they start posting derogatory terms or hate threads/posts.

Etain is right. We allow everyone to have their own opinion.
You can hate Homosexuals with a vengeance, thats fine. But you cant discriminate against them.
You can debate the pros and cons of Homosexuality or any other subject but you cant abuse someone calling the a pillow biting fag or anything else like that.
As for the whole Jamaica sue. We don’t live in Jamaica or anywhere else for that matter. This is a Internet forum and it has its own et of exclusive rules that override any other rules about race, gender, religion found in any other country. Movie Codec is not a country. It does not exist on any geological map, there fore the rules and laws that are enforced where you live do not count here.
The only rules that mater on Movie Codec are the Movie Codec rules.
Yeah you are all right. The racism using the “n” word was a big debate on the forum too, but I agree with the racist rules so I see now that by protecting the races you gotta protect the other minorities at the same time.
