By Fall of 2007, the Wii will have drastically dropped in sales(and stay there), while others(especially PS3) will have picked up.

By end of 2007, Wii will be in 3rd place, and stay there, no matter how much help it thinks it will get from exclusives.

If the sales do drop drastically it won’t be this year, there are too many major games coming out later on, the biggest of which is Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

I would say by the end of 2008 this looks very realistic.

I just have this strong feeling that PS3 is going to skyrocket near the end of 2008 and completely dominate the Console market. I think by the end of 2009, Xbox 360 will be slightly ahead of the Wii. I can see a last gen market share repeat being very possible.

This is obviously a prediction coming from somebody who has apsolutely no clue about the market and or current situations. Thus when the end of 2007 comes and Wii is in close 2nd or 1st place I’ll make you eat those words harshly. It’s quite sad to see people come on here just cause they were wrong before try to make up with the future. your future is bullshit and will be proved when it comes.

I see a lot of people saying this and it’s a very possible scenario but ya just can’t say it. God damnit back your statements up with some at least numbers or something. Otherwise your just spitting out words that are meaningless to anyone trying to figure out this scenario.

Aside from the fact that what these guys just said is rediculous but it is possible, very unlikely though. If things continue at this rate the wii will stand in second place or even take first. What I find stupid now is that many people just look at the wii and still think, it is nintendo it is bad, what they don’t understand is that if a console is fun then it is fun either they like it or they hate it because they think it is for fools, babies, or they just hate it because they suck with it.

Based off of the facts of how things are going now the wii is the only console that can compete with the 360 because it is starting to get some of the better games in the coming months. Just last March the godfather for the wii got a higher rating then the Xbox and PS2 versons for its control above all else. The wii is getting more major games this spring with the recent release of Super Paper Mario wii sales should pick up a little because this is already another killer app nintendo has made. Other titles like MKA are coming to the wii and while it has no online support it gains exclusive content the other versons did not have. Mario Party 8 and Spider-man 3 also come out soon and people are bound to like the games.

I have to ask what you think of all the press that have started casting predictions of a nose dive for the Wii? I got it about two months ago and I love it I already own five games, my favorites being SSX and Wario Ware. I have also rented a number of games including Godfather and Sonic, with the former really impressing me with its controller. With all these positives, and more games on the horizon that excite me, why do these critics claim there are no new games and the ones that come out are all crap? Am I fooling myself?

You’re talking about specialist press here, yeah? I don’t think I’ve seen a single article from anybody in the mainstream that predicts doom and gloom for Wii. I’ve noticed that some game journalists (the hardcore crowd) have suggested Wii will bomb once people get over the novelty or wake up altogether. I don’t really subscribe to the theory. Don’t get me wrong. I do have some worries about how Wii games will look next to Xbox 360 and PS3 ones in two years. Already we’re seeing a pretty magnificent difference. But at the same time, I’m not entirely convinced it will matter. I believe that some of these games journalists are applying the same fundamentals that shaped our industry to Wii, which is an entirely different beast. I’m quite certain that these same people probably predicted from the start that Wii would flop, and look what happened - it certainly isn’t flopping.

Pokemon Battle Revolution. Super Mario Galaxy. Metroid Prime 3. Super Smash Bros. Brawl. These titles are going to sell the system to the hardcore and anybody who suggests Wii is going to suddenly flop is simply ignoring the lineup. But even if they never came out, I think Wii could find a huge audience with a different type of gamer in titles like Wii Sports 2, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, Wii Health Pack, Brain Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree, WordPlay and Boogie. This new gamer - supposing he can be tapped — is potentially much bigger than the hardcore section and some of these game journalists really need to wake up to that truth.

I mean, has Tetris taught us nothing? The franchise remains as huge today as it was decades ago and graphics have nothing to do with that success story. I’m not suggesting every Wii game is the next Tetris, but neither am I discounting the possibility that Nintendo’s new controller may prove to be an avenue for fresh and innovative games that stay the system’s popularity because they are fun first and pretty second.

haha wrong with what? you’re the only one who gets owned daily on these forums by numerous amounts of people. People just don’t go further with you because you’re very arrogant and think you’re always right, but i laugh at almost 90% of the stuff you write.

Zucas, you know nothing about gaming, how do you like that? cause it is true. By the end of 2007, not 2008 or 2009, you will see the wii get surpassed by PS3 and sales drop drastically. All the Nintendo Fanboys own there wii already, games like SSB and MP do not make a casual gamer go out and buy a system.

So, when i’m right, i won’t come laughing in your face, because i do it almost everyday behind this computer screen at the garbage you spew on these forums.

It’s annoying i’am the only who can let you know it, when mostly everyone thinks it.

Yes, they will. I’m a casual gamer and I bought Wii especially for those games, especially SSBB. SSBB is such a huge game, that I guarantee you when it comes out Wii’s will be selling like crazy. In fact the reason I bought a Gamecube was because of SSBM, but I got ton of other system sellers on the way. There are way too many good games coming out this year for the sales to suddenly drop.

mark mine as well. what you say will not come to pass. yes, wii sales will slow down, but that is just becouse they have yet to seriously slow down since launch. it is still selling out everywhere. but, by the end of 2007, the wii will be ahead of the ps3, and still selling like wild fire. and, i will not let you forget it when the time comes; that is, if you have the balls to show your face around here when you have been proven wrong.

did you know that take 2s support for the wii is NOTHING compared to PS3s and Xb360s??? take 2 has over 20 games planned for PS3 and around 15 for XB360, while take two just ANNOUNCED that they will support the wii. But I cant wait til they regret it!
