nintendo was working with sony to make a console that used cds, but then they stabed them in the back becuase they were greedy they decided to go with philips, sony thought that they might as well dump the hardware, but they didnt, they created the playstation and it became a bigger success!
then microsoft came along cus sony joined in, and thus nintendo killed themselves making the biggest mistake of their lives

Thats why they have tried to fight back and now are doing so with the amazing Wii and the not so amazing DS(It should be PSP in first I mean PSP Underground is amazing, you can download demos and everything)!!!!
Allow me to go over something P. Moore forgot to disclose in his speech. Yes, Nintendo did betray Sony and go with Phillips, however it twas Sony who turned to betrayal first.
The reason Nintendo went behind Sony’s back and talked with Phillips was because Sony wanted the rights to any Software that was produced on their discs. That basically means that Sony could take one of the Zelda or Mario games and sell it to a competitor (i.e Sega) for more profit. Nintendo saw this possibility and ended it’s partnership, if Sony hadn’t gone off an requested the license to the games as a price for using their discs then Nintendo wouldn’t have betrayed Sony.

well yes ur right they did want the rights, except nintendo already signed it with sony so sony just caried on and made the drive in agreement with ninty, but then ninty then realised what they signed and they cancled it when sony had already made lots
1) we have been over this months ago. why did you feel it necessary to bring it back up?
2) sony was trying to rip nintendo off by stealing almost all the profit nintendo made on every cd made. nintendo went behind their back and made a deal with philips to get some leverage in the situation, but sony didn’t budge. eventually nintendo had to break off and try to do it with philips. the project fell through, nintendo went back to cartages, sony made the ps1 with the n64’s spare parts and cds.

Yeah, Sony screwed up first, so although Nintendo did indeed create their arch-nemesis in a way, they also stopped Sony from completely taking over their company.
And let’s not forget Sony’s reason to jump into gaming, it wasn’t to make awesome games, it wasn’t to try something new, it was to utterly crush Nintendo. Now who are the bad guys?

If that was true then wouldn’t they have already done that? They would have bought out Nintendo’s relations with Capcom, SE, Konami, and buy some of their biggest second party developers like Retro Studios and Intellengt Sytems. Both of those second party companies made some of the biggest games for Nintendo.

Back in September or October last year MSNBC showed a special program called “Game On! The Unauthorized History of Video Games”. During this program they explored each major company’s reason for entering the gaming market.
Nintendo first entered into the Market because they wanted to bring gaming in from arcades to your TV screen.
Sony entered the gaming market with the intention of crushing (not buying out, but actually completely killing the company by taking their buisness) because they felt betrayed.
Microsoft entered the market in order to get their products into the entertainment room.
If you don’t believe me then go watch the program “Game On! The Unauthorized History of Video Games” on youtube or something.
Out of those reasons Nintendo entered it for a good reason and Microsoft intended to do the same thing, only to do more for home entertainment but if those were the true reasons then sony had the worst. If they did only enter the gaming business only to crush Nintendo then they are pathetic, they only want revenge and there is one major thing they are forgetting revenge never works and it will only end up biting them in the ass. Instead of forgetting the past they just want to carry out their dream of curshing Nintendo. Somthing that will most likey never happen.

That was their original intent, and for the most part that almost succeeded. The PS1 outsold the N64 quite a bit and the PS2 murdered the Gamecube, however I don’t think that’s why they’re in it now, even though they may still hold a grudge against the big 'N' I don’t think they want to crush the company anymore.
