They did read the contract and partnership agreements. That’s why they canned it is when they did read it.
It’s obvious you don’t know your history on this but Sony and Nintendo had simply been in talks of creating a new system which nintendo wanted called SNES CD and Sony wanted it to be called the Playstation. But whatever. Anyways they were expected to announced their partnership at that 1991 CES show floor. Sony and Nintendo had both openly stated that they were in talks. So when it was time to make the partnership official by signing the documents NIntendo noticed something put in by Sony. That was explained by Kev360 so I don’t need to go into detail about that.
Well as soon as Nintendo saw that they said fuck that. So behind Sony’s back they cancelled it so when Sony went to go to CES to announced the agreement they looked like retards cause at the same showcase Nintendo was talking about their partnership for Philips.
So yes Nintendo was quite harsh to Sony in the cancelling part but for what Sony wanted to use their discs were outrageous. So I guess both companies did things they shouldn’t have but Nintendo did cancel for a good reason but shouldn’t have turned down their partnership at a public even twhile Sony confirmed it.

And let’s not forget Sony’s reason to jump into gaming, it wasn’t to make awesome games, it wasn’t to try something new, it was to utterly crush Nintendo. Now who are the bad guys?
They entered gaming to make money dumb fuck nintendo and sony werent even in competition then sony was way richer then nintendo and had no reason to destroy nintendo plus if they wanted to they would just buy out nintendo
Back in September or October last year MSNBC showed a special program called “Game On! The Unauthorized History of Video Games”. During this program they explored each major company’s reason for entering the gaming market.
Nintendo first entered into the Market because they wanted to bring gaming in from arcades to your TV screen.
Sony entered the gaming market with the intention of crushing (not buying out, but actually completely killing the company by taking their buisness) because they felt betrayed.
Microsoft entered the market in order to get their products into the entertainment room.
If you don’t believe me then go watch the program “Game On! The Unauthorized History of Video Games” on youtube or something.
That is the biggest load of bullshit I probely have ever heard. Every company entered the gaming industry for one reason. Money. Sony didnt enter to take nintendos buisness they entered to make more money just like microsoft and nintendo. It doesnt make any scense why Sony does not want to buy out nintendo because they want to take there buisness witch they could do by buying nintendo out. That sounds like complete horse shit

if they wanted to get revenge they could had just gone “Oh they backstabbed us so we will buy them out and show them not to fuck with us” but they didnt since nintendo breaking the deal didnt affect sony and sony didnt care and rubbed it in there face when the PS1 outsold n64
You know nothing about this situation, and you know nothing about Business. I take and Understanding Media class so I know for a fact that any company, including Sony, can’t just buy out any company they want even if they have enough money, it doesn’t work that way.
