I think this article is probably relative to this topic. Brings up some interesting points concerning photorealism and the fallacy of hi-def resolutions.
They won’t be able to pull anything on AC’s level off in real time this gen, the consoles don’t have enough power to do it. I’d say within two more gens they will though.

it showed comparison shots with dead or alive, only thing is, dead or alive art style isnt meant to look realistic, its only meant to look nice not real, and its also on the 360 and a 1st generation game
Quit showing screens and saying its as good as AC. AC has billions upon billions more polygons, far higher resolutions, and far more filters and more advanced HDR lighting running.
CGI is done in render farms and the render time can take up to a day for ONE FRAME. No way we can do that this or next gen. Now, Advent Children isn’t that great in terms of CGI, so that level of quality is achievable faster, but stuff that Pixar or Blizzard make, nope.
