I used to be a cuter when I was a teen.

I would like to say, I never did it for the attention. I did it to feel something.

The Pain and determination that comes from slicing your own flesh gives you power over something in your life. The power and control that I gained from cutting allowed me to deal with other difficult situations in my life that I felt were overwhelming. To me, cutting was clarification that I was still alive and that I was in control of my own life. The pain allowed me to focus and to clear my head, while the scars that were left behind were a reminder of what I have overcome. Sometimes I would cut myself and pour rubbing alcohol into the open wound just to heighten the sensation of pain to dizzying heights so that I had to really focus to keep from fainting. Occasionally I would also rub salt into the wound to remind me of a old saying about life. “into every wound, a little salt must fall”

The greater the pain, the more focused I became and he better prepared I felt to deal with my life. For em it was a very personal thing. I also used to cut out of misery and despair. I did this to take my mind of off the empty inky blackness I felt in my stomach and chest. The blood symbolized the cleansing of my emotions and the physical pain would join the emotional pain to ,make me feel entirely empty and hollow, rather than just part of me. Often I would lay in graveyards at night, jealous of the dead, because their pain was over and wishing I could join them, but knowing I could not. Alone and isolated, I would punish myself just to feel something other than emptiness. A splash of Pain to cut through the emptiness and t fill me up with something. even it was only for a while.

I suppose I would be classified as a EMO back in those days if such a term existed all those years ago, but now I have moved on to bigger and better things, but I still love the pain and I still occasionally cut myself...just for the power and control and sometimes just for old time sake.

So the sense of control could be compared to a dissorder such as .. anorexia ? Them starving themselves to feel control over their bodies is sort of what you described.

However, its a mystery to get into the mind state of a real cutter because as Wolfy has described, these people have real life problems.

I think that each Cutter has their own reasons for cutting.

Sure we may share some common factors, but still, I think Cutting is as individual as the person doing it.

im slowly understanding emos, they get emotional easily, why? well i used to get emotional when i was younger but i never cut myself, they need to get away from what makes them sad, they need to stay away from that for a long time, for me primary school is wat made me sad, i used to have random fits at people who pissed me off, now that im in high school i changed, and nothing puts me down becuase im always a cheery guy, emos need to be taken away from what makes them sad, or see a proper councilor, emos are crying out for help but they don’t want help, one person i know carved the letters help into their arm, yet she doesnt want help

this person is doing a speech on emos, she says its a person that gets emotional, and the cutting part is them wanting to inflict pain on themselves

WoW red corn syrup, the fake blood of choice for over 100 years. Nice image, but fake blood.

I enhanced the image on photoshop and ran it through a bunch of filters and I see no wound. Also the blood is too thick. For it to be that color, it would have to be fresh and fresh blood doesn’t gel like that. it runs. It is not running in the right direction and also further down on them wrist and elbow are the wrong color and consistency for that sort of smear.

Corn syrup more than likely. As I said above somewhere, Corn Syrup has been used by Hollywood movie studios as fake blood for over 100 years. its cheep, it can be colored and it can be watered down to whatever consistency it needs to be. As you can see, it fooled youwink
