Might be good for his socialist state! But here we have guns, do we need to control them a little bit more, maybe make it so crazy, mentally imbalanced people don’t get there hands on them? Yes!
Do we need to wrench it from our citizen’s hands because some poofoo European socialists and left wing extremists say so? Hell no!
--- Dogbert said the deepest thing ever.
“It is all a part of the big illusion we perpetuate upon ourselves and which is in turn perpetuated upon us. When we believe we engage the illusion, when we stop believing we shatter the illusion and ourselves in the process because we are part of it."
I think guns are a useful thing in many of lifes events (police, army, security etc.) but i think when 'everybody' starts carrying one, we let all the unhinged on the planet get the chance to do harm.
I don’t want to have to shoot anybody just because another person said 'yes, of course you can have a gun sir' in a shop that wanted $$$money$$$ over safety.
The reality of people saying they want one cos “he’s got one” is a bit of nonsense i think, unless your a fictional western film character who can draw his pistol faster than anybody else. If you aint fired on a “person” before, you will most likely be stood there, wetting your pants, and shoot a big hole in the ceiling before you even fire in to the same Zip Code area as your target
The reality is, if somebody goes to shoot you, they will 'already' have a gun out pointed near you (that’s how you mentally know you are at risk ), and at about 400mps, you’l get a thing hitting you and killing you. So only in Hollywood are you gonna dive for cover, load up, draw, and kill a person who may be so high on drugs or something, that only a road-roller is gonna guarantee that you stop them moving after you.
And on hunting - erm,, WTF, why? You are always gonna be shooting something that is either too far away to hurt YOU, or is too docile to know to run, and is invariably NOT gonna be a required source of food. If you want that adrenalin rush - PAINBALL try it, it hurts, its even scarey, but its harmless
Final bit - guns are not like cars or anything else. In a car, i use it for travel. I can control it in many ways, but others may crash them into people, drive dangerously etc. A gun is made for a single purpose - to kill. Not 'defend' cos that is a by-product of the event, its 1st and foremost purpose is to cause death to another thing (OK, shooting a tin-can aint kiilin really ). But there you go. I control my car to be 99.9% safe. But if i had a gun, i would intend to invoke death, nothing else.

*picks up soap-box, dusts it, and walks away*
he he.
good point but i still much safer with one than without one and i can draw my pistol faster than anybody else i am quick with the trigger so i carry one just in case

I will say it again but I have mentioned this in greater detail before in several other older topics......
Guns are impersonal and are too often used to kill people who didn’t even see it coming.
Some one can fire off a few rounds in a open area and where the bullets end up is anybodies guess. They could end up lodged in a tree or in a little girl, there is no way of telling unless you actively go check.
Too many times have people ended up shot for no real reason when the bullet had no target o was intended for someone else.
Thats why I hate guns.
Its too easy to kill people and never know you have done so. Every life you take should be remembered and should be taken on substantial grounds...not by accident.
yeah that is true but accidents happens with lots of things i see your point i just think that accidental death can apply to alot of things but people just tend to see it when it applies to guns more than to other things

Yep, thats true. And i can understand what you say about feelin safer 'with' one for defence.
I can’t think of anything else around tho, that is made just to kill somebody with. The more an object like that is available, the more chance there is of deaths from mis-use.
I see it as down to ratios. Most people here can drive, and most know how to use a sharp kitchen knife (normally ).
That doesnt make them dangerous, but.....lots of people drive dangerously, and lots of people get stabbed in the home.
If 'everybody' drove dangerously, or everybody took sharp kitchen knives out in the dtreet to aimlesly carry around, what will definately happen?
By keeping guns from the general population, it lowers the risks. OK, some people carry them, but the ratio is lower - so naturally the injuries are too.
I drive safely, cos i will get fined for speading/being dangerous, and will eventually either be banned totally, or kill another person.
I dont wanna hurt anybody else, and i dont wanna get banned, so i drive safely. And the car (like my kitchen knives) is a 'nearly' safe object.
But a gun is a danger. And that is all it is (unless you live nowhere near others). i do understand tho, that if you live out in the vast areas of somewhere like parts of the USA etc., its gonna be safe there, cos there aint gonna be nobody around, and also then if you do get unwanted dangerous visitors, you 'can' defend yourself cos the police will take 2 hours to drive to you.

I don’t think anyone should have guns unless you are hunting wild game or somthing...
Too many innocent men, women, and children die ever day from guns...

So true.
It is fairly easy to get a gun and it is also so easy to squeeze the trigger and shoot something or someone. It can happen so fast and often with fatal results that it is often too late to think about not going ahead with shooting a gun as it happens so quickly. You can’t shout to someone to get out of the way after the bullet has left the chamber, then its too late.
the problem with guns is that people see the necessity to carry them but lack the common sense and skill to use one properly.
Unlike a sword, where if you use it incorrectly, you are likely to damage yourself and no one else, with a gun, it is almost always someone else who will suffer for yo9ur carelessness.
