I’m saying it cause it’s my opinion haha. Geez do you not like opinions haha.
But seriously the only reason I’m saying it’s impossible for Halo 3 to do what OoT did is because of what it needs for the rating system here. The reason I say it won’t do it is because it’s my opinion that OoT is a better game. But factually it’s almost impossible for Halo 3 to replicate what OoT did with what overall rating it got.
Very. All of this is opinionated. That’s why my main arguement is that looking at how and what Zelda: oot rating is is why I say it’s impossible.
But of course all reviews are opinionated but when every reviewer says that this game is over a 90% and 80% of them say it’s 95% or above I mean come on it’s saying something. Not only that but IGN Staff said that OoT was the 2nd best game ever made only second to Super Mario Bros. And Readers Choice at IGN said that Zelda: OoT was the greatest game ever made. It’s still all opinions but the opinions seem to have found a majority.

lets be honest for a minute tho, if OOT was reviewed now by someone for the first time, it would almost surely not be considered as good.

ya, but thats because the graphics are a bit lacking by todays standard, as are the controls. but, at the time, that was the best of the best.

Indeed, CPO has just stated one reason why the ranking system is supremely flawed.
It’s not flawed you just have to account in time. Meaning when you compare OoT and Halo 3, which you should never do cause they aren’t on the same level, you have to compare them to their certain times.
The only question I have is why are we discussing Halo 3. Halo wasn’t even the highest rated series of last generation. Shouldn’t we rather be putting Metroid Prime 3 and RE5 as the more likely choices due to their predecessors rather than Halo. Although those probably have little chance as well technically they have more of a chance then Halo 3.

I’m not saying Prime or RE suck or anything, but according to these averages it seems Halo 3 has the better chance.
Well I guess if you wanted to go that far sure. But technically MP3 and RE5 have a better chance. But we’ll just say that Halo 3, MP3, RE5, and Soul Calibur IV are really the ones that could have a chance. But still for all of them the chance is small. Even the next Zelda game has a small chance.
Well, I hear ya, but I still don’t understand how they have better chances. Hell, everytime I play Halo 2 on Live it’s full of people. I mean without online it would be where Prime 2 is where not many people play it except for possibly speedruns or so. RE4 is probably still popular, but since Halo 2 has online that adds to its longetivity. Sure both Primes and RE4 are on GC, which means since the Wii is doing the best than they have a chance, but none of those games are as popular as H2.

Well longetivity doesn’t really account as a big decision in replay value. I mean really if it’s a single player game they are goign to rate it as a single player game. Meaning games like MP3 we’ll probably get a pretty good rating for replay value as it is anyways. Same with RE5.
Yeah, that makes sense. Then Prime and RE5 are going to be good in that case. H3 shouldn’t do too badly either. I mean a lot of people will be comparing it to H1 & H2 to see if it rocks more. If H3 single player > H1 single player then cool. I just didn’t really get into Prime 1 that much even though others did. Never played RE4 yet, I want to.

They better put Soul Caliber IV on the XBOX 360 and Wii this time instead of just a playstation or else it will never sell like the second one did.

Soul Calibur IV is on the 360 so no worries there.
