It’s impossible for the Wii to show off graphics on Par with the PS3 or 360. Everybody knows this...

That’s not completely true, Have you even taken to thought that most games for the wii arent taking full advantage of the graphic abilities?

Actually, it is completely true.

Granted, PS3 and 360 are making games that have to be tailored for far higher pixel resolutions than the Wii. That takes up a LOT of power. Nevertheless, that’s mainly GPU anyway, so even at that, you still have far superior CPU’s and RAM running. The Wii can’t look as good as the other two, but, I believe it can be acceptable. Pokemon is definitely a decent looking game, as is the upcoming Mario. There is graphical potential, but the White Engine used in FFXIII is just one example of what the PS3 can do far beyond it, as well as the 360. The Wii can’t handle that engine, primarily because the shader technology is inferior. That’s its main disadvantage.

Have you ever taken to heart that the best looking PS3 game right now supposedly only uses about 30 percent of the console’s power and that game already looks better then the best games we’ve seen on the Wii to date?

and to agree with wat Cid said Gears of War only took up 30% of the 360 as well. Imagine wat both PS3 and 360 can achieve at max. Besides the wii’s max use of graphics could only put it on par with ORIGINAL Xbox.

Wii games are definetly going to look better. I mean Super Mario Galaxy is a testament to that. The game looks apsolutely beautiful. But I think it can farther than that. If the Wii is as powerful as the original Xbox but running on upgraded architecture as the GC it will definetly be able to have better looking games even up until the end of it’s lifecycle. Especially if I show you what the GC could accomplish. Let me go get that wonderful tech demo for the GC.

I’m not saying the Wii isn’t capable of good graphics, I was saying that it isn’t capable of what the PS3 and 360 can accomplish.

I’m not trying to say that it can get to what PS3 or 360 can do. I’m just saying that these graphics we are seeing right now aren’t what the max of what Wii can put out.

oh, well I agree with that then.

I’m just referring to SE’s decision to go with the console that has the horsepower to create those visually stunning cutscenes that they’re famous for.

Well those fake cutscenes that are pre rendered can be done on any console. It’s more about the in game that will be the stunnar. And judging by those in game shots you showed right there it really can’t be anything to brag about.

But Square is going to do what they want but I just hope for their sakes that they invest a little more in Wii.

Well, a FF game never was praised for it’s in game graphics as much as the highly detailed cutscenes they produce. Sure, they could be done on any console, but they can’t be done by anybody. The distinct art style, motions, and everything else in those scenes is what makes the FF games so great. Of course though, don’t forget that those screen I showed also came from IGN and IGN isn’t know for uploading high quality screen caps. I’ll see if I can find some really good ones.

Meh, I couldn’t find anything anyway...

I did come across this though.

In game screen shot from Crisis Core on the PSP, looks GREAT for a portable game.

That it does. Looks like a really really early PS2 title or late N64 title. Can’t tell though.
