Yes.

But whether or not it’s mainstream shouldn’t bother you. I’m currently listening to Jamiroquai. Do I care that loads of people listen to it? No. It’s decent Acid Jazz. You should listen to a band based on the quality of the music. That’s why my taste is so massively varied.

Yeah but the sad thing is is that most mainstream music is complete horse shit. For example: My Chemical Romance, Maroon 5, AFI, Fallout Boy, Panic at the Disco, or any other shitty pop/emo bands that take over MTV and the pop stations.

I’m not even going to mention rap because about 75% of that is dog shit.
