It didn’t really do anything new, but it expanded upon what OoT started and just tuned it up a great deal to handle a higher generation. The depth of the story was also a big step forward, never has Zelda been so epic in storyline. Its one you can actually get into.
Not only that, it was very beautiful, stylistically.

Pfft, I liked “Link’s Awakening” for the Gameboy, (lol).
Well, the little kid in me says that, I played that game for months on end...
But if I think over all the Zelda’s, I liked Zelda 2 the best. Side scrolling was an interesting element to add to Zelda, and difficult last time I remember. I only beat that game once. Time to go download that off the Wii Shop Channel.
oh yeah forgot about link to the past, i loved that game both my cousins and a friend had it. we would always hook our gb together and play the bonus game
