Well actually, it’s not really fact that Final Fantasy music is better. It’s a more know opinion that it’s better. Now the general public would say that Final Fantasy games have the best music in the game genre. (of course ruling out games that take music from artists like Madden and GTA) This could easily be helped sustain by the fact that Final Fantasy is the only video game to have an original song win an award at a non vg music ceremony.
'Eyes on Me' *beautiful song btw* from Final Fantasy VIII was composed by the genius Nobuo Uematsu and sung by chinese singer Faye Wong and was the first song in video game history to win an award at the 14th Annual Japan Gold Disc Awards, where it won “Song of the Year (Western Music)" in 1999.
So I’d say that Final Fantasy *had* the best music in a video game. But The previous 3 games (10, 11, and 12) were all composed by someone else, and the quality of the music greatly decreased. However, Zucas didn’t ask for the best music only, he asked for the best music compilation. So since Final Fantasy (being an RPG) lack any REAL sound effects... I’d say that it is Zelda OOT due to a fantastic musical score by the one and only Koji Kondo and wonderful sound effects to boot.

Yeah, like I said. I think Zelda has the overall best soundtrack, effects included. But I love the FF music almost as much as I do my real stuff. Uematsu is probably one of the greatest composers of our time. Why he wasted his talent on games as long as he did I’ll never know.
But it would have been awesome if he were to have help compose the Smash Brothers Brawl soundtrack. Alas, he only did that trailer theme... kind of upsetting...
Haha I see. Well looking at the Smash Bros composers this music could have one of the greatest compilations of all time haha. The few clips they’ve posted sound amazing.
But I wonder if looking at the composers can we figure out characters. Like the guy who does the music for MGS games is here and we know Snake is in the game. Could we make similar relations to figure out more Brawl characters.
Looking at it that way the one that jumps out at me the most is the guy who composes for NiGHtS is involved in this game. Could Nights be a playable character in Brawl? Go figure.
