well lets look at some features here......
Home
1. Free Roam and visit other people’s homes
2. gain trophies as rewards for accomplishing games
3. place photos from PS3 hdd
4. watch movies from hdd with friends and visit local movie theatres
5. custom design ur home
6. join PS3 games from home
7. customize ur character
8. play arcade games like pool and bowling
hmmm sounds pretty fun......now lets look at Xbox Live.
Xbox Live
1. engage in Private chat while swithcing between games
2. gain achievements for completing games resulting in a larger gamerscore
3. gain rep throughout XBL
4. do not need to return to main menu to read messages
5. can have video chat
6. able to have Windows Messanger friends and type to them
7. Invite friends simply by hiting the center button and selecting Invite on their name
8. Listen to music while in games
9. Customize bakcground and guide display
Also sounds pretty intresting......
Now what i want u all to do is just say what u think is better....don’t say “Hey Demon u forgot some features” or anything like that. I just want to know what u think is better.
In the end i will vote because it’s too hard for me to decide right now.

Not to mention there will be voice chat and video chat, and listening to customized music, etc. --- Look into my eyes and hate me. Part animal, part machine...remain calm, prepare to destroy.

There are obviously certain functionalities in XBL that are done better, but in time XMB will have those anyway. --- Look into my eyes and hate me. Part animal, part machine...remain calm, prepare to destroy.

like i said it’s too hard for me to decide right now....i need a beta of Home then i’ll b able to decide. Last edited 03 Jul 2007 11:41 am by Demon Slayer | | | 03 Jul 2007 11:43 am |

So if you wanna judge I guess it’s not bad to put in all those things that WILL be coming with next firmware updates.
But, like I said, no one can honestly say XBL would be better than what Home is gonna be. It’s a far bigger experience and interaction. --- Look into my eyes and hate me. Part animal, part machine...remain calm, prepare to destroy.

But can you imagine the difference? Home = all this 3d virtual world you can roam around while XBL is translating that into just linked text and clickable banners.
Completely destroys XBL. --- Look into my eyes and hate me. Part animal, part machine...remain calm, prepare to destroy.

Once XMB gets all those same features that XBL has — ability to access messages, chats, add friends etc thru the guide button, during game, and has customized music, has webcam, etc...then even without Home it’s better than XBL.
The PSN market place is better IMO too. More user-friendly and just better done. More info displayed about games/trailers. You can see most popular downloads. The menus are clear and well placed, etc.
XBL and the blade is a mess of banners and tacky colors and links all over the place etc. XMB is so neat and simple, yet sophisticated.
On top of that, while I don’t complain that XBL is $80 AUD a year, the PSN being free really does make it better.
And that’s all just without Home. --- Look into my eyes and hate me. Part animal, part machine...remain calm, prepare to destroy.

It doesn’t matter what they’re a combination of, the fact is the total combination, the end result, is better than XBL. --- Look into my eyes and hate me. Part animal, part machine...remain calm, prepare to destroy.

1. The blade for Ps3 isn’t customizable liek the 360 so taht does make the 360’s better.
2. Even though i believe PSN will get Chat, messages, ect soon it hasn’t been confirmed yet
3. PSN marketplace isn’t better than XBL. Tehy are both the same because they both have easy links, ect.
4. The colors help ppl know what each section is...no one ever complaiend about it and it makes it less dull.
5. Yes PSN is good because it’s free
u seem forget while PSN gets updates so will XBL. I’m not sayign XBOL updates will make it bttr then PSN but it is still possible.
as for some of the things u said tehy are preposterous. The blade being terrible? Hah.....i think it’s bttr then the XMB blade. Why? because....if u have a vision camera u can have the balde customized and the bakcground will show watever ur vision camera is looking at. Being more custimizable makes it bttr while u can’t customize the XMB blade...u have to wait for night if u want it to b black or day for it to b blue. | | | 03 Jul 2007 01:08 pm |

UBER 1337 Poster Rep: 11 Joined: 14 Jun 2005 Posts: 4,157 OFFLINE | Cid...XMB = cross media bar software where you access all your settings, games, etc.
Demon...Firmware update 2.0 and beyond will be adding customizable background, chat/music etc all coming, PSN market place is more user-friendly and less cluttered, offers more reading material too, and shows most popular downloads etc, while XBL market place is a mess. True, the colors are vibrant, etc, but it doesnt mean it’s better. I find the functionality of XMB far easier to navigate and find exactly what I’m looking for. XBL blade im always going back and forth trying to find something, and often they repeat the same links in multiple blade sections.
Zucas...I know YOU like XBL, but a reason that “PS3 copied Mii, XBL and Second life” in itself is a bias not a legitimate reason. IMO. --- Look into my eyes and hate me. Part animal, part machine...remain calm, prepare to destroy.

XBL shows top downloads too, it shows new downloads(something PS store doesn’t), they repeate teh same links because some ppl might look under 'Games” for XBL Arcade so a link will take them to the download screen, true it offers more reading material but i bought a PS3 to play games not read about every lil fact about a download...XBL sumarraizes wat the download is into one simple sentence. | | | 03 Jul 2007 01:31 pm |
UBER 1337 Poster Rep: 11 Joined: 14 Jun 2005 Posts: 4,157 OFFLINE | Summarizing one simple sentence is good for a snapshot, but i like being able to read more about something. I find i always read PSN downloads for info on them.
PSN does have 'new downloads', it’s the “new features” menu tab. It throws them all in there.
Having multiple links in multiple places is stupid. Why it makes XBL blade too cluttered. It was awesome when it released etc. But once i used XMB (cos i never used a PSP), i found it to be superior and more user-friendly. --- Look into my eyes and hate me.
