he makes a point, but some things are better left to ourselves

He is saying be yourself... as the rest of the world should accept it while trying to change things for the better.

he’s is really saying let the fuckers be racist so we can label them as racist and work on changing their opinions.
So how do you change these peoples opinions so that they wont express themselves the way they think but express the opinions you think?
Thats like be yourself so we can find the ones we disagree with and make them like us.
Its no wonder that people don’t want to express themselves.
Thats pretty fucked up. All he wants is to identify the people who are different and change them so they are the same.
Yeah,, that sounds like a REAL GOOD IDEA!.......

He’s saying that we can’t solve the problems of things like Racism by simply covering them up by forcing a racist to pretend he isn’t.
He’s saying that we should let them express themselves and as a result we can work towards a world with no racism.

And how do you think hats gonna happen Cid?
Do you think they are gonna ask nicely and give them a lollipop if they do as they are told.
Racism is a hatred towards a person or persons race. It isn’t something that can just be changed by expressing it, and when people express it, bad things happen. People get hurt, people DIE!
hate is one of the most powerful emotions there is. It isn’t something that can just be forgotten and swept away with a few kind words.
racism exists because people are too stupid or closed minded to seek equality within all beings.
Some people may change, some may not, but its up to them.
You can not make a person change their opinions, they must do it them selves and any attempt to do so will be met with more animosity.
To forcibly make someone change their opinion is cruel and just as bad as racism itself.
By telling people its ok to express racism, whats it going to achieve?
Yes you find out the people who are racist, then what. Violence, more hate?
People will identify these people as racists, this will lead to them being segregated and prejudiced upon. That in turn leads to animosity which can lead to violence.
Soon you have all the racist rebelling against the non racists. More violence ensures due to all the very strong negative emotions.
then the government will step in and force all the racists to be quiet and change their opinions...probably by force, ergo taking away their freedom of speech that they promoted in the first pace.
What ever happened to self control?

Racism is but one problem really. The same applies to sexists, nationalists, and pretty much anybody else who believe they’re superior to another.

We have racism because people want to feel superior so they label other people as inferior when in actuality, they have a distinct lack of understanding that each race has its good and bad points and neither is superior to the other.
There is one universal truth with the human species that every racist fails to see. Despite the difference in facial features, skin color or other outward appearances....we are all the same on the inside.

Never said anything about forcing them. I said work towards a world with no racism. I’m a doctor, you don’t tell me that your chest hurts, how am I supposed to diagnose a heart condition and help you to control it?

Now that they are allowed to be racist, do you really think they are gonna stop?
You know, Hitler identified the Jews and got them all to come forward....look how that turned out.

Ignoring a problem will never make it go away.
The same with global warming. There is controversy that it isn’t man made but I am sure that man has played a role in speeding up the heating and cooling process.
Instead of taking action before the problem drastically affects our planet, we’ve chosen to ignore it. Why? Because the illusion of a healthy planet has presented itself to us
He is right when he says we value appearance over reality. Its become human nature.
The sky doesn’t look sick. Sure we have problems with smog, but it clears up right ? Everything looks fine while the ozone layer is depleting.
Only if we could see the consequences of this, would we do something about it.
This was just an example that can be applied with the racism. Any world issues can be applied to this man’s statement.
World hunger, teen pregnancy even could be applied to these statements.
