If I read 100 blog comments and 80 of those are pro wii-board, and out of those 80, 70 people are all saying, “i cant wait to get fit now, ive been really slack, but now, this game will make me fit again, i can sell my treadmill or stop my gym membership”, not exactly, but those sorts of comments. What does that tell you? Of course it’s a rough snapshot of “what the majority think” that’s the point!

No it’s what 70 people think. You call that a majority. Polls and what your friend thinks and what you think can never be assumed to be a majority. Assuming that it is is pure foolishness. With your logic I cuold go ask 10 people, pay them off to say Wii Fit won’t help you lose weight, come back to you and say hey these 10 people say it won’t so obviously we can assume this is what the majority thinks. Posting an assumption of a small minority as a representation of the majority is pathetic.

What is any poll anywhere on the net? A snapshot. They could only attract 100 people, or 20,000, but it’s still a representation of a majority thinking, not THE majority itself. Same with game rankings and blog comments.
It’s all there to show what a 'majority' opinion seems to represent.

Haha that’s even more pathetic than you assumptions. YOu didn’t note anything I said especially when I pretty much put your ideals down. Try bullshitting again. Maybe it’ll be a tiny bit more believeable then that crap.

What exactly are you trying to say, Zucas? How about instead of deflecting and attacking ad hominem, you actually tell everyone here exactly what the gist of your debate is? Just getting straight to the point?
I think I made my points well enough. Everyone understands what I’m saying...whether they agree or not. But you, you’re indecipherable. It seems all your posts are just attacking me, saying “thats bullshit”, etc. Where’s the actual discussion and point making? You’re just riding my back whatever I post and not actually discussing the topic.
And, you know very well what I originially meant, yet youre going off on this angle now of trying to explain (for the fool) what an assumption is, etc. Derr, no one said it was a fact or anything. I said from the start there are many people out there who idiotically construing Wii Board as an actual fitness device, who are in love with it somehow tho they could do the same with their pre-existing treadmill. Ie, it’s a gimmick product, like you see all those ab-master devices sold on late-night tv. Nintendo themselves advertizing this and other 'improvment' games/devices as some form of literal proper product.
I also showed my dismay at Nintendo’s direction here for gaming. Yes, I said masses will buy these games etc, but regardless, I’m still dismayed. In fact, there ARE ninty fans out there starting to get pissed off with Nintendo now. Asking, where are the mature games, the 3rd party blockbusters, why all these nes add-ons, them even saying ninty is just trying to make a fast buck on all these rehashed items. There is an element or percentage of people out there who think this, non-ninty fans and ninty fans. I dont know what the percentage is AND I NEVER SAID I DID OR SAID WHAT IT WAS. Just that Ive read the comments and I know I myself have taken the same attitude as them with Ninty’s direction here.
Sure, there’s gonna be millions of people all buying these products, and that was never disputed.

wii fit looks awsome, i hope it has fast pased dancing on it, and yeah i would like some excersize programe on my wii. i wonder what else you could do with this, and i cant wait to see some really fat ass dick to start playing on it
WiiFit encourages ACTIVITY therefore it is a “fitness thing”.
If anyone believes any DEVICE is going to magically make them “fit” by using it they are STUPID.
True, You can get the same workout by sitting a concrete block in your living room, nobody said it was any different. It is no diferent than those step aerobic videos, and they have been around for a while...
Why is it step aerobics with a VHS or DVD is an OK supliment to your fitness routine, but the same (with some additional bonuses) on the wii is not?
I am going to step down to gg’s level and make an (gasp) assumption... I BET Nintendo will include an insert (like almost any other piece of fitness equipment) stating that wiifit is only a portion of your fitness plan.. blah blah blah... Must be suplimented with a healthy diet and additional activites... blah blah blah...
I dont think nintendo is stupid enough to say that wiifit is a “truer method” of excersise than every other device on the market and replaces the need for a healthy diet, normal activity... blah blah blah... etc etc...
And I dont recall Nintendo saying anything about Brainage games being better than going to school. All they have claimed is that they are thinking games, just like wiifit is a fitness game.
What words have nintendo used to imply that wii fit is your total fitness solution???
Oh, and I am also going to go out on a limb here and say, although BMI isnt the absolute best method for tracking your fitness, it beats the only method most normal people have available in thier homes; A regular scale... You want the wii to measure your bone density and stuff??? Yeah, who is being unrealistic? BMI>Weight
I dont understand why someone would think that a device which promotes activity (by design) provides interactivity and provides costomized feedback is not a viable piece of fitness equipment.
Personally I could care less about wiifit and am looking forward to other applications for the ballance board, but I do see the appeal for some people.
