While castration does have its perks as a punishment, it won’t stop the rapist from re offending, just his ability to get a victim pregnant from his actions.
Punishment for rape is a hard one to nail down as the victim..be it male or female suffers much anguish and emotional damage on top of the physical damage. I speak from experiance, having been raped myself.
Anyhow, how to make a person pay for inflicting such a horrible experiance on a person is such a difficult thing to categorize as a viable punishment. Life in jail doesn’t seem severe enough and physical violence, while may be satisfying at the time is only a short term gratification.
A ideal punishment would be some sort of psychological therapy where the rapist was made to live his actions through the view of his victim.
Now I know that this is not possible as of yet, but this would ideally be a fitting punishment when coupled with with the identification to the surrounding districts of his/her deeds. ---

I have earned my disillusionment. Rep: 53 Joined: 03 May 2006 Posts: 7,418 | Speaking from personal experience, I would say no (although perhaps I wouldn’t say no to a well-timed kick in the crotch or two lol.) It really does nothing to solve the problem or the mind-set of these people. The mindset of women being humans that it is ok to inflict violence on needs to be changed at a societal level.
Also, spending too much time debating the appropriate punishment really puts the attention on the wrong person. Which should be more important - punishing the perpetrator or helping the victim to get their life back? The latter gets ignored far too frequently. ---

Same principal, I’m sure they won’t want to rape somebody after spending time with Bobo in the state prison.
However, I’m a man myself so it’s kind of hard to say “castrate the bastards” because I wouldn’t want that to happen to me... But I don’t plan on raping anybody, unless of course you count the metaphorical “raping” of somebody in a video game. ---

but death isn’t humane, I think life in jail would be the best way to punish someone for a crime...but a rape isn’t neough for life in jail...cause the purpose of jail is to try and rehabillitate someone, if every one was locked away for ever for one crime there’d eventually be no one less ---
