Bumpmapping is like evolved textures, instead of having 2 D images over a 3 D image, they actually make 3-d details in armor and thinks, example, look at halo 3 chiefs boots, see those 4 circles? see how they actually go into the armor unlike halo 2, thats bumpmapping.
Only thing I see that is different is the dissappearance of most jaggies and more detailed textures and armor displacement. Otherwise though I think if you were to stand the 2 up in the same game and just look at them from a modest view you wouldn’t see much difference.

Thats kinda the point, MC is still wearing the same kind of armor as in Halo 2, so of course it will have better textures, less jaggies, etc.

And that’s exactly what I stated. I don’t think I really put opinion either way just said that. I think it’s a modest upgrade but good for the same character in the same outfit.

Not much would change in a sequel, they basically took the halo 2 MC, stripped off all textures, added new textures increased bump maps and a few other things, but the new shading system, environmental reflection, and lighting is what makes a big difference, here is a few of the new Mc’s technical specs.
