Well my first Wii was severely messed up. And the one i played at Gamestop was much better then mine, but it wasn’t exactly “Revolutionary” as it liked to hop and wasn’t completely accurate.
But the TV was set kinda low... and i’m really tall... that may have been it....
Yes the sensor bar has to be placed fairly centered, if it skips it’s not set up quite right. Try it again from a different angle, sitting down/standing up, or move the sensor bar. Once it’s set it’ll work flawlessly.

Does it have to be on the TV? Because what if i want to stand up but my sensor bar is set lower with the TV? Will is still work if i set it up higher?

cool, just make sure when you play wii you get extra good curtans, so you can play wii during the day, other wise you will have problems with pointing
I’ve never had that problem......hold on...I’m going to flash a light on it.....Okay, I just put a flash light on the remote and the sensor bar and nothing happend....so I don’t know what your talking about.

behind the tv? or behind you? if its behind the tv then you have a very big problem, if its behind you and the light shines in the room that shine can often reflect off objects and mess up the wiimote,
cus the wii does all the calculations not the wii, the sensor bar just sends out heat, and the wiimote records the pressures with the accelerometres, and can tell what way you are holding it
Okay, I just put a mirror in front of the sensor bar, shined a light at the mirror and nothing happend. So again, don’t know what you’re talking about here.

lol, it completely messed up my “Drawing”.
The TV faces me as i play, correct/ and behind me to my right slightly is a huge mirror, then facing forward to my right there is a huge open double window, then on the wall to the left there are pictures frames. (also known as glass)
So... my living room may be a wii’s worst nightmare?
mirror isnt a problem, infact you could turn around and play wii backwards with a mirror lol, the windows well get some curtains, and picture frames well i dont think they will be a problem, but i found doorknobs are a hazard and even my stereo which i didnt think had any reflective surface
Odd... why couldn’t Ninty do something about that?
He’s making it up. I tried all the things he said that are “messing up the Wii” and nothing happend.

Well, mine is set on a TV that when I sit down I’m lower to the TV and when I stand I’m higher than it. When I stand it’s less than shoulder height and it works in multiple directions for when I have friends over and we play with my Wii (lol). One of my friends is really tall, and it doesn’t affect the motion sensing.
You have to remember that the cursor on the menu screen may jump a little, but in many games that isn’t a factor, such as Wii sports.
Glad to hear your getting one this Christmas Nerevar. Nice.
And no need to worry about if your hand is directly level to the TV. I play the Wii lying down and my TV sits on top of a dresser and it still works flawlessly. I’m sure it works the opposite way as well.
Trust me you’ll find nothing as a problem with whereever your TV is. Trust me I thought the same thing knowing my TV wasn’t level to where I sit/stand and it works great.

thats such bs, where do you think I play Wii, in my basement? Hell, I’ve even set up my TVoutside and played outside with sun.
your bullshiting you didnt set your wii and tv up outside to play, it would only work on a cloudy day, cus if you point the wiimote to the window you will see it pics up heat points and makes the cursor go mad. and also i understand exactly how the motion sensing works, and the “sensor bar” does not sense anything! it has 2 heat points that the wiimote picks up and the wiimote then calculates the distance etc with the distance between the two dots and it can tell what way you are holding it with the accelerometres which of course turns the finger, and if u have the sun or reflective surfaces it gets mixed up with them, i pointed the wiimote at 3 lights that were on and you could see on the screen perfectly well that it was picking them up, if you were to be outside in the sun the sensor bar would be too week and the tv would reflect heat and there are tons of hazards
Okay, I tried it at a lamp and it did pick it up. However, the chances that that lamp’s heat will screw up the control are 1 out of a million. My house is really hot because we own an old house that doesn’t have built in A/C and I’ve never had any problems like that. In fact, I just played about 10 minutes of Heatseeker with the sensor bar infront of a mirror and I had a heat blanket on me while a flash light was aimed at the remote and nothing happend. The only way it would get screwed up is by someone wanting to screw it up.
Well, I want a Wii, but will it dissapoint me like the DS? Will there be games with pretty explosions guns hand grenades chicks in bikinis motorcycles and cyborgs? I hope so...
