Not to be a dick, but the only band in there that I dont think is complete shit is AC/DC.
I’m sorry u feel that way. Actually I’m used to it cuz none of my friends like these bands either and they’re constantly telling me how much my music sucks, but hey, I can’t help it if I like it
It’s not so much the fact that it’s mainsteam that bothers me; more that most of their fans think they’re 'alternative'.
Hah.
Anybody who is a fan of the bestselling band of the seventies isnt alternative, no matter how much alternative music you balance it out with. I would never say I was alternative.

Glam was an abhorration too.
It’s funny that 95% of Black Metal bands were inspired by KISS. Makes you wonder.
Basically, glam metal came from 2 places. Glam rock, ie bowie, t rex etc which isnt terrible, and Van Halen, who I like with roth, but I still think are freaking assholes for starting hair metal.
I’m still contemplating starting the Extreme Metal thread, but people posting shit bands would annoy the hell out of me, and only you, me and Gunslang would actually have anything to say.
Currently checking out the new Deathspell Omega album. It’s intense.

We need the 2 pictures, and a photobucket account to store them on. Ill ask wolfy again.
It’s best to learn by ear, with any instrument. Easier said than done though. I had to resort to tabs to learn Vicarious, Tool, but only for a few fills.

Well, to say it nicely, my ears suck. Im basically deaf. That, and I have no understanding of music, or theory. So basically, I suck. But yeah, probably is best to learn by ear.

How long have you been playing for? Do you take it seriously much?
Since january. I take it very seriously. Actually, I know exactly what I want to play i.e. riffs, solos, fills, rhythms, etc, but I dont know how to play them. Thats my main problem. Just need to practice more, I guess.
