Yea but if people are wondering what actual sales to consumers worldwide is for any console your out of luck. There is no 100% accurate way of tracking it, yet. But VGCharts numbers are usually in the ballpark to give you a general idea of what the numbers are at the time for sales to consumer.

21 gamer seems to think they actually have sold 4.4Mil to consumers. Sony aims at retailers, and yes, they have sold THAT many, but not to consumers themselves.
21gamer doesn’t know a damn thing about financial reports nor how to read them. This is something I happen to know about and know a few others that know about it. It’s 4.28 million shipped as of the end of June 2007. Sony says they sold 4.28 million cause they sold 4.28 million units to retailers. We call that shipments. It’s really not hard to understand at all.
5.5 million units have been shipped and about 4.5 million sold. 3.8 is an old number from a while back. Talk about not being able to read reports.

Hey Zucas I know this is random, but how the fuck did you get 24,000 posts in 2 years? That’s quite amazing, knowing it took me 3 months to get to 1000.

i am still wondering if sony will actually “sell” 14 million by next march....
Will Sony have 14.5 million shipped by March 2008? Good question. My guess is no. They planned to have 10 millin shipped this fiscal year and so far in one quarter of the 4 they’ve only shipped 0.71 million of it. 9.29 million left to go for a console that is struggling to sell evne with a pricedrop.
Basically for that many to be shipped by March 2008 they’d need at least need 11 million actualy sold to consumers by that same timeframe. That means they need to sell 7 million more units in 8 months. That’s about 35 weeks. And with an average worldwide weekly sell number at about 75k they are going to need a lot of help.
well when you explain it like that the results seem nearly impossible unless sony somehow sells a bunch due to the new 80GB coming. but even then I doubt it.
Sony needs to have good bundles or something to do this.

For one where do you get this 3.8 million number. That number has never even been mentioned in a Sony financial report concerning PS3 shipments. Read the link I posted awhile back directly to Sony’s financial report. It pretty clearly states that 4.28 million units have been shipped. So the 3.8 and 4.5 numbers aren’t even correct to start off.
So just right off the back I’m supposed to listen to you about not reading when you can’t even read numbers correctly. Please give me a break. The 5.5 million number from Sony’s financial report a quarter ago was of production shipments. It’s states clearly in this financial report that they have changed their method of announcing PS3 units totals from production shipments to recorded sales. The definition of production shipments is units manufactored in a manufactor building and then shipped to Sony warehouses. The definition of recorded sales is how many Sony sells to retailers. WE call that shipments.
It’s 4.28 million shipped. To Sony that is sales but remember they sell them to retailers. We notify that as shipments. Sold to the consumer has no way of being tracked to 100% accurate and start thinking like a smart human being for once 21. Why would Sony include sales to consumers in their financial reports if financially none of that changes it at all. Yes exactly.
It’s 4.28 million shipped. It’s the bare facts from Sony’s financial report.

I guess any forum could have been addicting during the time I found this one. Just when I searched something and I found this forum became attached to this one an not another one. Just caught this first in google searching. Luck of the draw really.
intresting zucas, the same thing i did to find this site. i googled “metroid vs. halo” and the first thing that popped up was a moviecodec website and been hooked since.

I googled Sony PS3 vs Xbox 360 vs Nintendo Revolution and once again first thing popped up was the console wars thread.(at the time it was Nintendo Revolution and not Nintendo Wii for obvious reasons)

There’s a whole lot of sites that contradict what you said.
5.5 = shipped
4.5 = sold
Those are the rough estimates. 3.8 was about a month ago before the 'price cut'.
Use your brain and don’t twist things around just to be in Nintendo’s favor. Why even bother twisting things around when the PS3 is still underselling?

Simple knowledge on how to read these things will prove everything wrong. Especially the very annoying adding error. It’s 4.28 million anyway you are looking at this. How do you trust sites that can’t even add.
Of course those are all old financial report for the end of Sony’s fiscal year a quarter ago. 5.5 million were produced and 3.57 million shipped. Remember if Sony says they sold something in a financial report that means they sold them to retailers. We know that as shipments.

Yours isn’t up to date. Use mine. It’s the most up to date. It’s as of the end of June 2007. As I said if you knew how to read them you’d understand that I’m apsolutely correct.
