christianity does teach that god burns nonbelievers in hell BUT there are also some denominations that oppose that teaching.

people believe in what they find reasonable. of course we dont expect people who have no knowledge of the bible to just believe in it. they have to find reason to first.

Are you saying you need reason to believe in the Bible? That’s ludicrous. People with reason are the ones that don’t believe in god.

people with reason are the ones that dont believe in god? say atheistic evolutionist? the reason why most scientists dont believe in god is because science does not allow for miracles yet for some reason or lack of it they dont see that evolution itself is a miracle.

u have no right to say that unless u have examined the bible thoroughly and with open mind urself.

I have the right to criticize. You don’t have to fully examine the Bible to know that the stories are absolutely ridiculous.

ok so u have tha right to criticize but not all criticism is reasonable. like u saying the bible is ridiculous without examining it is like me saying someone is stupid without actually getting to know that person.

I have examined the Bible before, I used to be a Christian so I know what I’m talking about. What I don’t get is why you think my criticism is unreasonable. How is scientifically analyzing the stories and asking for evidence unreasonable?

I examined it pretty thoroughly, and found everything that involves the supernatural (pretty much everything) is ridiculous.

creationism. i take it u find that earth being created in six days is ridiculous. well it wasnt created in six 24 hour days. the word day means an era. just like when someone says back in shakespeares day they dont mean one 24 hour day. so yes creationism is a belief that earth was made in six 24 hour days and i dont believe that. i believe it was made in six stages those stages lasting between thousands and millions of years.

i cant guess what u find ridiculous about jesus and noahs ark.

Dude, the Earth took literally millions of years to create. The belief that it was created in six days is ridiculous. The scientific method clearly states that the Earth is 4.5 billions years old. There is no evidence to suggests otherwise, nor is there any scientific or historical evidence that would support Noah’s Ark ever happened or that Jesus was supernatural.

uh.....thats what i said. stages that lasted millions of years.

about noahs ark that was thousands of years ago. and noah’s ark was made of wood it wasnt some aircraft carrier. what are tha chances of finding a wooden ark made thousands of years ago. hell people thought troy didnt exist until they found it.

how do u expect people to find evidence that jesus did miracles? its highly unlikely.

Which is why neither of them are believable. They are about the supernatural and there is no verifiable evidence that it ever happened. What reason could you possibly have to believe in this?

ok, so your saying if something lacks evidence then it is unreasonable to believe in it. well then i guess it is unreasonable to be an atheist because they have NO proof that God doesnt exists. it is unreasonable to believe in evolution because evolution has not been proven. it is unreasonable to believe in what anybody says until you have found evidence that what they say is true.

Through observation we have actually found that the chances of god existing are very small. You know that “Boeing 747” argument creationists try to use against evolution? Well God is the ultimate Boeing 747. Just because something can’t be disproven doesn’t mean it exists or even probably that it exists. You can’t disprove that there isn’t a flying spaghetti monster somewhere in the universe. You can’t disprove that there is a two headed invisible green elephant that can go through walls somewhere in your house. Believing in something just because you can’t disprove it is not only irrational, but insane. The burden of proof is left to the believers, not the atheists. They are the ones who believe, not us. And BTW evolution is pretty much proven. We have mountains of evidence that support evolution. It is known as a scientific fact and is the only workable answer that explains how we got here.

how exactly did we find the chances of Gods existence to be small when we cant observe him?

we believe in many things that we dont need to prove. but not for no reason. it has to make sense. and God creating life is more reasonable than life being created by nothing. evolution doesnt think, its an idea not a person, its dumb. imagine that? us being created by dumb luck. knowledge does not come from dumb luck.

evolution has not been proven. if in fact if there are mountains of evidence why dont u tell me a few?

Well I’m no biologist so I can’t tell you every single piece of evidence that we have of evolution. For now I’m just going to tell you that we have transitional fossils, genetic evidence and have observed natural selection at work. These are huge pieces of irrefutable evidence that support evolution. Your welcome to look it up for yourself if you want, because from your post it seems you think evolution is random or accidental. If you know about evolution you would know that it is far from random or accidental. Evolution is a law, like gravity. It doesn’t need to be able to think in order to work, and it is very accepted among the scientific community as opposed to creationism.

And BTW, you think God creating life is more reasonable than us getting here from evolution? Creationism creates a bigger problem than it solves, which is, “who created god”? Creationism ultimately results in infinite regress, thus explaining nothing of how we got here.

BTW, here is a little video about evolution

first off i am not a creationist. creationists believe that the world was created in six days. i dont believe that. however i do believe that we were created by God but that still does not make me a creationist.

can u give me more details on how these “evidence” support evolution? i know i can look it up myself but i want to know what YOU know about it. tell me in your own words.

evolution is a law like gravity? hmm. sounds interesting but how does it work? gravity is easier to understand because i can see it work. but i cant see evolution working and so i need evidence just as you need evidence to believe in God.

the concept of God not being created may be very hard to grasp. but you can liken it to many things in this world. like time. time does not end and it has no beginning. that is not proven but we accept it as fact. astronomers find no begining or end to space. talk about infinity huh?

thanks for the video. ill watch it but i have dial up so it may take a while.
