It is not Ok. It was never okay. Weeman, I’m sorry you took a hit for something I did. I edited an image the second I saw it and handed out a warning. Xtrm is a good poster here and as a first offense I saw no need to ban him. He does break other rules but this was his first large offense.
As for my attitude where I acted as if nothing was wrong, that was me being very foolish. I should have handed out out a warning and not beaten around the bush. However, Xtrm and I go very far back and he was the first person to make me post on here, so it would have been very hard banning him. Senority matters in my book. If you are a member of long standing good health then some leniency is deserved.
I just felt that John should have had harsher punishment, perhaps Weeman took a leaf from your book so to speak and followed your example, which was foolish considering Johns past history of repeatedly posting porn and getting banned for it.
But hey, he made a judgment call and followed your lead and was lenient. I would have not been but that was me. Rules being rules and all.
Why I am on the topic of Johns repeat offenses, what do you think we should do to someone who repeatedly breaks the rules, posts porn and the like and then dodges the bans via other accounts?
It is troublesome that Bans no longer work as an effective means of enforcing the rules of this forum.
Fair enough.
Not fair enough, as you have a valid point and I do not. I let a member’s “health” stand in the way of my decisions, and this time it was also a personal thing.

This is entirely my fault. Weeman was following in my footsteps (very foolish) and did nothing for that reason.

It’s good to know that we do have moderators who take the rules seriously. I suppose I may have been tired last night, but I do not find that as an excuse. Rules are indeed rules. Warnings permeate bans, unless warnings were already given.

We have no choice but to keep on banning. He can use an anonymity service and have his I.P. changed every time. That doesn’t help us in the least and an I.P. range ban may be very bad.

As technology increases, the means to resist also increases.
I have a opinion that if someone dodges a ban by using such means as IP anonymizer or alternate accounts and is a repeat offender, they should have the ban transfered to whichever account they jump to. I feel it is terribly unfair to the other members that follow the rules or take the ban seriously and stay away for the length of the ban as punishment for their actions.
This sort of careless or rebellious behavior exhibited by a few select troublemakers is sure to become contagious and spread to other members soon enough.
One member plants the seed of suggestion through his/her actions and soon everyone will harvest the fruit and take similar action since as not do so would place them at a disadvantage when it comes to being held accountable for their actions.
Soon, I feel, it will not matter how many mods we have, the rules will be unable to be enforced and anarchy will ensue.
John is already one of the for runners of deliberately breaking the rules and avoiding bans for serrious offenses and he makes it no secret that he has gotten away with it unpunished. He is smug and this site has become his dominion.

Opinions?

Remember the time when the rules were what governed this site not “people’s feelings”? Why should older members who have built up more friends be able to dictate who does or who doesn’t get banned? Why are those who have been here for over a year almost completely impervious to disciplinary action? I call for a return to playing by the rules.

Firstly...shut up John.

GR and Weeman seem to think it alright.
LOOK fool. I didn’t see it just to punish someone for something when someone else was not punished for doing the same thing.
So if GR jumped off a cliff it would be okay? Just because a different moderator was overleniant doesn’t mean you have to be. What happened to you being the moderator who took risk’s to protect this site? When did you turn into a pussy?
