Mods probably use PM’s to talk to members, hand out warnings, etc to handle and keep order in the forums.

Just because you don’t see a mod give a warning, doesn’t mean they haven’t.

Some people assume the mods don’t do their jobs just because they don’t see the mods do anything.

I’m guessing the mods work in secrecy, to still keep order, only have the member they are talking to hear them, and to not clog up the forums with their warnings and such.

We members don’t know what how the mods work, so please don’t assume anything.

I wasn’t trying to attack mods like that but some have messed up, GR isn’t one of them.

I really hate to say but it’s true.

It’s not only the mods though. There are other members too.

I take care of almost everything on the forum so that the person in question can’t claim that they weren’t warned.

Okay, the forums have just lost it. It’s a lot of things that are contributing.

It’s a lot of things not one group or a few people.

I agree with you really, but... it feels like we can’t just point and say who is the real culprit... ya know?

I think, the mods needs to tell us members what is really going on. Everyone knows that the mods and Bjarne keep us poor members in the dark, half the time we have no idea on what is going on... =/

Do you now?

You have to look at it from the members point of view though, we see someone break the rules, then we so no warning and they keep on frolicking throughout the forums.

Over time, some members will get the idea you guys don’t do your job...

We just need some reassurance that you guys are still here, keeping everything in order.

Public Display vs. Privacy

Hmmm, a PM warning ensures the success for a member to actually see the warning instead of chancing the warning in a lost thread where the warned may never see it. Are there supposed to be double standards here?

The site’s only real moment of weakness is 2-6 am, when there are normally no moderators on. Generally, apart from that, we’ll have at least one moderator online.

Completely true, that is why i believe the mods work this why.

But without the occasional public warnings, members will get the idea the mods are not doing their jobs.

I think mods can probably do an occasional public warning, just to give the idea they are still around, but at the same time, they also use the PM system for warnings also.

That is a great idea. I try to keep most of my warnings public but do occasionally slip to PM when it is convinient.

No, the mods are part of the problem too, save GR and Firewolf. It’s not an attack on the mods but they are part of it. The whole site is. Just read up on what’s going on.

I believe I am also a part of the problem, with all respect due. I have grown attached to members here, and I doubt I will be able to ban most of you without further encouragement. But, in rebuttal to my own statement, I rarely see second offenses.

How so?

I have noticed quarks here and there, but nothing serious.

Worse thing i’ve seen lately was weeman getting with calling another members a fagbag, even though it’s clearly against the rules as it can easily be counted as sexual discrimination.

Absolutely! I received my warning via PM and there’s no excuse to NOT notice it there. It was clear as day. I personally think all shit is going waaayy overboard.

Too strong of an attachment eh?

I can see how it would be hard, but you have to do your job right?

Attachment isn’t the best word, in retrospect. I’ve grown “fond"
